We have been informed that all team members MAY dress up for Halloween on Friday.

There are guidelines, however:

1. Costumes must be SAFE; i.e., no capes, masks, weapons, pyrotechnics, and so forth.

2. Nothing "offensive"; i.e., dressing as a stripper (except for those working in Juniors), a terrorist, or a merchandise manager.

There will be PRIZES!!! And maybe refreshments.

Like I said, our store rocks. I love our store manager.

Our store manager is letting us dress up too. There are however 2 requirements:
1. Black tops
2. Black pants

Sounds really, really scary.

Hey --

I'm also thinking of dressing up as a big red star with stains and broken points. I'll be the Macy's Star's obnoxious, alcoholic older brother. I'll wander around the store wearing sunglasses, belching and knocking stuff over, ashing my Parliaments on the cashmere aisle tables. I'll snatch coupons away from little old ladies and spray all the fragrance testers dry. I'll run up the down escalator and prop the elevators' doors open. I'll drop security-tagged items in customer's bags when they're not looking so that they set off the alarms when they leave the store. I'll make overhead announcements advertising free towels in the home area for the next 100 customers -- no purchase required.

Yeah... that's the ticket...

To a felony conviction.

Uh...Never mind. VERY BAD IDEA!

It was an entertaining fantasy, wasn't it?

Sounds great, Polli!!! Bloody Marys for everyone!!!

Who wants to be Donald Trump?

We are really, really geeked with this. Again, my store manager is the best. ever.

The guidelines were clarified at our morning meeting. Again, all costumes must be "safe" and non-offensive.

Witches, ghouls*, goblins, and ghosts were deemed acceptable.

Bloody and gory costumes were not. One of the managers even specified that it wasn't okay to dress like a serial killer.

Damn. I wanted to go as Dexter.

(*Does that mean they're green-lighting the Terry Lundgren costume idea? SWEET!!!)

Mirror Mirror on the wall!

That sounds fun Lady. We get to wear our pajamas! I am wearing either my plaid pajamas and school shirt or my polar bear pajamas and school shirt. I can't decide!

I have a polar bear robe that matches my polar bear pants. I also have a green plaid robe and purple plaid pants.

What a problem! (As if my kids really give a care!)

I'm still surprise they still celebrate Halloween in schools. The religious groups from the Jehovah's Witnesses to certain Christian Coalitions in my state have banned Halloween events from the schools and in turn have resorted to calling it Harvest Festivals.

Well ours was not a "Halloween" parade, it was the culminating activity of Red Ribbon Week. Our school has "characters" come out against drugs. The kids dressed up in costumes and carried a book around that had their character in it. (Reading related)... then we had a "Fall Celebration" this afternoon.

I love the fact that they take out Halloween period just like they take out the Christ out of Merry *****mas!

First f all I am offended when Christ is removed Christmas... Don't get me on my soap box.

The end of our red ribbon week was pajamas! We had Pajama Day instead of a Character. We are a low income school, so many students wouldn't have the money to get a costume, so we used pajama day instead.

I personally don't like Halloween, I have never really gotten into it, so it doesn't bother me either way, but let me say this!

All these persons running around that are anti Harry Potter (I hope I don't offend anyone) are usually the same people that grew up watching Samantha Stevens and Genie. Same concept. People who can't differentiate the difference between fact and fiction don't deserve to celebrate it. If you honestly think you can walk to your broom and say "UP" and fly away - then perhaps you have more serious issues at hand.
