Just came out today that our store is asking for volunteers to take time off. Is this company wide or just in my store? Has some people worried. Also changed store hours, no longer open til 10 on Friday and Saturday.

Its corporate, I guess, because its happening here as well.. We've been told, that anyone who'd like to take a week off, unpaid of course, go talk to HR. This is so we don't have to "let anyone go". I dont imagine they will give this option to the critical employees??
That makes me ask: does anyone have a list of which positions are considered "critical'? dm's and tls must not be critical, since ours were sent away on one of the many 2 week disaster relief teams that have been consistantly pulling away key people since the hurricanes.

I would assume the specialists may be exempt.
