So...today I have a lady come up to me and show me a picture of another person and ask what size I think they would wear. When I politely explained to her that I have no way of knowing what size the person would wear, she then says that she has another person to buy for who is about the same size, but a little chunkier, and asks what size I think SHE would wear??????
Next, a lady comes up to me with a 4 page registry from Target and tells me that she does not feel like going to Target, and wants to know if we have any of the things on the registry. UGHHHHHHH!

OMG, I can't stand customers anymore! I hate when they ask you if you have a certain brand and you say no, and then they ask well who does. How the he$% should I know. You are looking for it, not me! I always tell them if I was looking for something I would do an online search!

I would ask if you might happen to know who would sale it and then go about my business..

Why the H E Double Hockey Sticks would any moron bring a Target registry to Macy's and ask a moronic question like that. For Pete's sake, you have eye balls go read it your self and find the same or similar items at Macy's.

Usually people who take the time to let you know that they are registered somewhere WANT YOU TO BUY EXACTLY WHAT THEY HAVE REGISTERED FOR!!!!
I could not believe that the woman expected me to actually read through the FOUR PAGE registry!!! As if I have nothing else to do!
PLUS, everything that I saw on there was Target Brand. UGHHHHHHH!!!!!!

I think that the "There are no stupid questions" only applies to school situations... in the real world people ask stupid questions everytime they open their mouth... especially in retail... it was my experience that Macy's had "stupid questions in the air system".

Oh, I forgot about the lady that walked up to me with a shirt in her hand and said, "This didn't come off of the 75% off rack, but IS it 75% off?", to which I answered "NO."

If your dumb enough to go to Macy's with a Target registry then you should have to take the time to search the Target registry yourself for the Macy's equivalent.

Some people...

Ummm..

MAYcylady this coupon says I cannot buy Chanel cologne with it. However I want to buy this cologne and I do have a coupon. Can I have my $25 off?

Home Depot took Lowe's coupons - no joke - we were told if a customer brings the coupon into the store we are to honor it and process it just as if it were a Home Depot coupon.

This is a good one that happened on Tuesday.

A customer calls my department and asks if we still have the same shoe that she saw on her last trip to the store.

I ask her what brand it was. She doesn't know.

What color is it? Black.

What did it look like? Black.

What did the toe look like? Can't remember.

How high was the heel? Can't remember.

What kind of heel did it have? Just a heel.

What was it made of? Can't remember.

Was it suede? No.

Was it patent leather? No.

Was it smooth leather? No.

Reptile print? No.

Fabric? Maybe.

What was the price? Didn't know.

When did the customer last see it?

LAST APRIL.

And if I don't have it, would I mind calling other stores to see if they do.

I told her I'd check the stock room later and I'd call her if I could locate it. She said that was okay.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaah...

Hey Huds..

I was inside Macy's about twenty years ago and you had this shirt I liked.

It was, ummmmmm, and ummmmmmmm, and ummmmmmm - Can you go look and see if you have it in stock? If not, will you drive to all 850 stores and see if anybody has it in stock. If they don't will you call ummmmmm the manufacturer to see if they have it. I just have to have it now!

Thanks,
Friend.

And of course, there's no shipping fee, right?

And I can put it on my Discover card?

And ship it to a P.O. box?

And have it gift wrapped with a card attached?

... And I have this coupon I want to use...

Doh! Doh! Doh! Doh! Doh! Doh!

And I also hate it when they tell me that my store's merch is CRAP comapred to the stuff they find in our big urban stores. They go on and on about how this store looks like Walmart compared to the stores with the high-end items.

And they're telling me this as they're purchasing three pairs of Calvin Klein socks marked down to $1.99 each.

With a Macy's loyalty card coupon.

With which they want to use CASH because they don't have a Macy's loyalty card. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

I spent 32 Million dollars at Macy's last year! How dare you imply that I am a bad customer! HMPH!!!!!!!!!!

Customers did that at Lowe's and Home Depot.

I just spent $200,000 here the other day!

"This is a brand new store and We just opened three hours ago, you're my tenth customer. Ummm... NO!"
