To all my friends at Retail-Worker,
I hope you had a great Thanksgiving. I wanted to take the time to let you know my prayers are with you! When you have an insane customer, just think of some of the funny times we have had on this board that have caused me to fall in the floor laughing! Macy's stores are opening at 5:00 AM. May you have the sanctity to survive the worst day of the year in retail when people will stab each other to save $5 on silly items. I'm ready to get my game on tomorrow. I plan to be totally polite, courteous, and helpful. However, if anyone tries to give me crap, they're getting the side-eye and my best condescending concern. Let's share the war stories! |

Today > Hell
Customers were pleasant and patient, but incredibly undecisive. Like they wanted to shop, but had no idea what for. Whatever. They bought tons of crap and totally trashed the store. The closers were nearly in tears when they arrived this afternoon and saw what they had to clean up. And I opened six accounts today. Yay me.

NO COUPONS ON MORNING SPECIALS..what you mean you didnt read the rotto..it is listed..see..Do I look like Monty Hall and make deals..Past me a margarita..please shaken not blended damn was I happy to leave at 1245pm..VBG  I guess TEAM WINS..rofl

Oh my goodness, they were CRAZY! WHY do people have to throw merchandise on the FLOOR???? The coupons, UGH!!!! NO, you can't use a coupon on specials, NO, you can't combine the coupons, NO, you can't use a coupon on EDV's, NO, the cost of an EDV item does not go toward your dollar amount for using your coupon, No, you cannot have that EDV sweater for 50% off just b/c you saw one hanging on the wrong fixture, NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!
Some people were really nice, though. I still don't see how the floor got so trashed. It's insane. If I had to clean it up, I would die. Tip: Take your lunch break at 1:30, after the Morning Specials end, then the crowd will slow down a little, and other associates will begin cleaning up the wrap stands, and when you get back in an hour, the mess will be mostly cleaned up! He he he! |

I know, right? I wanted to cuss out the people I saw picking up stuff on hangers on the rack, holding it up to look at it, and DROP IT ON THE FLOOR. Right there. On the floor. And in my area, customers picking up boots from the displays and walking around with them like they're carrying firewood in their arms, dropping one or two here or there, and then presenting me with a heap of display boots and wanting "an eight, or maybe a nine, but probably an eight and a half in either brown or black, but preferably brown, except for this one that I need in black, but brown's okay, too." In each one of six style of NEARLY IDENTICAL boots. But then there was this one mom who was shopping with her teenaged daughter. They requested three pairs of shoes, and after I'd check the stock and be right back with their size, I heard the mom ask the daughter to please put the display shoes back where she'd found them. I stopped in my tracks, dumbfounded. I brought them their shoes and also brought other customers theirs. When I checked back to see what else I could help them with, apparently not all the shoes fit, but they had a couple more they'd like to try out. And they'd NEATLY RE-WRAPPED AND RE-BOXED THE SHOES THEY DIDN'T WANT. I was speechless. I ended up selling them two pairs of shoes, but I thanked them for being so considerate. The mom told me she could see we were incredibly busy and thought it was "only the polite thing to do" to help me assist other customers. Wow. I begged her to please come back and shop again soon.
