I have worked in appliances for Sears for the last 8+ years. Ive been through the ups and downs and im ready to move on. I have an interview set up at the local Lowes store for the appliance dept.
Any advice? Anyone know the questions they might ask? Also, realistically, what kind of pay should i expect (ask for) with my level of experience in the field?
Thanks..

I don't know what kind of questions they will ask but i do know that appliances is one of the most wanted jobs in lowe's. i have heard they can make as much as a zone manager which in some stores is upward's of 50 thousand.

I don't believe this person said they were applying for department manager just a position in appliances. You guys assume that everyone wants to become a manager at Lowe's to make more money. Every appliance specialist I know makes more than the zones in their store.
I'd suggest making certain that while you are going to be interviewing primarily for appliances that you let them know you are willing to throw freight just like everyone else in the store. Now, I'm wondering what if they offered you a position that was not in appliances? Would you still jump ship?

Id like to stay in appliances, if possible, since that is what im familiar with but, I guess that would primarily depend on the pay. I do pretty well at Sears. Its just the inconsistency of straight commission that makes it especially tough during these trying times.

You sure can make a chunk of change in Lowe's appliance department. PLUS have a base pay.

Expect to make at least a third more than you made at Sears/Kmart
