It does not matter if i was don or not ! I would still fire your ass for being a lazy bitch.
You treated the customer as if she was a piece of shit! Maybe she just not make up her mind like a typical female shopper! If that was me i would call the mgr and the call the company and tell them that your a lazy bitch and should be fired .
Just my 2 cents !

Oh, I almost forgot....when she was leaving, she asked me for directions to the door, but I told her that it was not my job to be a map!

Today a customer asked me if she could pay her bill. I said it wasn't my job to be her accountant.

of course if the associates say it, they climb all over you. "don't ever say that ! find the answer for the customer ", or something to that effect.

but now, the scheduling manager in the store is saying that to ASSOCIATES. LITERALLY. that person said that to 3 people i know of , including moi. now, the only associates she deals with are the on-call people. you have a question for her ? too bad. it's not her job now. you'll have to take it up with your manager now.

hmmm..... wasn't it just a year ago when we were told NO GSM"S were allowed to go into the schedules to make any changes ? they had to tell/leave a note for the scheduling manager and they would make any and all changes.

that's all changed now. the gsm's have been given back the "power". let's all see how long this lasts before the schedules are all screwed up. the gsm's have already screwed up the vacation/personal day requests.

can't wait for the - what's it called again?_ the new thing coming up ....MY SCHEDULE PLUS ??

awww. the scheduling manager might lose their jobs cuz they won't be needed anymore ? awww.... waaaaaaaa.... i have no sympathy for them now. see how they like getting screwed out of a nice cushy job. Rock on! Rock on!

somebody should talk to that scheduling manager...she is being rude!!! she is right though, the scheduling managers are in charge of the oca's. if an associate has a problem with the schedule, then he or she should see their gsm. the gsm should go to the scheduling manager to make any changes.
one of the reasons that the gsms lost the access to edit schedules was that they were not staying on budget. many stores would be over in hours every day.
i understand the reasoning of scheduling managers, but i would not be surprised to see many smaller stores lose them. i know of stores where they do NOTHING most of the time.

Norma,
The reason she may be saying that to you is that you are supposed to go to your manager first, and that's what she should be telling you...we have assoc. in our store who try to be sneaky and go to the scheduling mgr w/o telling their mgr. they're changing their schedule, etc., then the mgr catches wind of it, and who do you think they come down on...the scheduling mgr! Why wouldn't you go to your manager...isn't he/she your manager for a reason?
If you think the sched. mgr. job is easy, you are so wrong. In my store there are over 100 oncalls and flyers, so they are the biggest dept. in the store. You add to that other associates coming up and asking for stuff that they should be asking their gsm for, and you can see why they might get pissy.
Myschedule plus is not coming out this year, except to test stores, and it doesn't decrease the sched. mgr. job, it actually increases it, since associates will be picking up shifts all over the store to round out their schedule. They've actually added scheduling mgrs. to regions that didn't have them not too long ago...

the problem i have with this is none of the associates were told this in say..... a sheet with the info on it. they assume we find out through the grapevine. or osmosis.

and my gsm is turning out to be a pain. the vacations that all the associates filled out on the grid still have NOT shown up on insite. the vacations that i requested on insite have, but not the ones that everyone filled out the grid/form for. and we were told we did NOT have to also request it on insite. this is for everyone, not just me. i always have to make noise to get stuff done that should be taken care of by our gsm.
he had the vacation grid/forms for 3 weeks before he handed them out to us...then told us they were due THAT DAY or the next day at the latest !!!!!!!

when i question him on stuff he starts getting all annoyed and hot under the collar that THEY are getting down on him. i should have asked him who "THEY" were.

HEY !! he's the friggin GSM. it's his job to take the crap from higher ups. that's what he's getting paid for !!!!

when i DID go to the scheduling manager, she always took care of whatever i needed. and she always made it a point to let me know that she did. that's all i ask. a little help. and some respect.

Frank or MLBeast, what is the deal with managers wanting to have your vacation in writing? Doesn't that undermind the whole reason for insite...DOING THINGS FOR OURSELVS???
Second, I "heard" that part timers will no longer be getting a Saturday off...that part timers will work EVERY Saturday!!! Is this true?
Thanks! Smile

This won't make you happy, Normarae but in my store no one had to put in their vacations early. We just do it 5 weeks ahead of time on insite like always.

when that happens i will be going on call FOR SURE !!! i am thinking about it anyway in the fall. first i'm gonna use up ALL of my vacation/floating holiday time... then i'll possibly go on call IF i don't have a different job by then. 2 different gals just left our store for a job in 2 different hospitals !! so there ARE jobs out there. just have to know where to find em.

I don't mean to cause concern; I just HEARD that, from a little birdie. It might not even be true. But if it is, that would stink!
Part timers get no respect these days! What happened to the time when PT Benefitted were just the same as full timers? We have PT Benenfitted people that have been in our store for over 30 yrs!!!

I would like to know what the deal is with vacation requests also. In our store we are also told DO NOT put your requests on Insite. They must be submitted in writing to the GSM. I would much rather go thru Insite because it is all there by day in black and white and there is no way that anyone can tell you that they did not receive your paperwork or that it is missing in action. Continuing to require requests in writing is defeating the system and actually making more work for the GSM or schedulling mgr. because they must go into Insite and put your requests in after they are approved.

They are doing this in my store too, and I think it's BS! I believe that it is a store thing, NOT a Macy's thing.

I'm pretty sure that when a vacation request is in Insite, the managers get an e-mail notifying them of the request.

You're right, at least thru insite one can see the blackout dates; but I've found out that the managers still make up the rules to fit them.
