On the Macy's portal there was a memo from HR that will be soon be published on the Star Weekly if it hasn't been already. I'm not sure the exact wording but basically it says that Macy's is aware that associates may participate in social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and other forums. That what you say may have an impact on the reputation of Macy's. When you do offer an opinion make sure you emphasis it is your own opinion, and not that of Macy's. Macy's has PR people for that. Also any proprietary information should not be revealed.

Oh OK, yeah alright! My statements about Macy's Money are totally my own and do not reflect the opinion of Macy's.

What we say on OUR time away from the job is none of their business. As far as I'm concerned, they can kiss my lily white ass.

What's the difference between talking trash here, or any other place? What about talking to our neighbors, friends, relatives about the crappy working conditions, the crappy management, the crappy customers? Are we to suffer in silence?

bite me

All my opinions, comments & complaints about Macy's and the horrible way the company is run and the horrible way the associates are treated and the poverty wages are totally my own.

oh man i LOVE all of you and everything that was said thus far on this subject ??

DITTO !!!!!!!!!!!!! couldn't have said it better myself. especially the last one. Thumbs Up

no, they haven't "caught up with us yet" on this site. it's just that facebook and twitter is SOOOOOOO popular, they just want to cover their ass. macy's is so afraid that the public/customers might finally realize their precious company ain't all that precious.

like belldoll said above......... fuck em.

mmmmmm curious if i get my new WHITE name tag tomorrow. nobody knows about it yet in our store, tho i told a bunch of friends that used to work at our may store today about the new tags.

Well, I've said it before; if Macy's want the reputation of being a good place to work, then they should BE a good place to work and treat their employees well. Internet or no internet, employees talk to people, and if you're treating your employees like crap, America is going to know about it!

that star weekly was published on oct 5th. it's a weekly macy's newsletter passed out to associates for updated and current news. It usually tons of photos of outstanding managers/associates and group photos of charity events.

Never seen one, unless it's covered in the morning rally, but I never go to that.

A big waste of money as usual. Some poor salesperson probably lost their job so macy's could pay for the stupid star weekly.

Macy's has the money and time to create, compose, print, and distribute this? On a weekly basis??? How is that possible????

We are now using shopping bags that are weaker than supermarket produce bags and have no paper towels in the restrooms an average of four days a month.

Damn, this is bizarre.
