hi everyone. i'm from another store on this site.
does anyone have any info about the portrait studio located in sears ? i was just curious if anyone had anything good/bad to say about it. i worked many years ago for olan mills and am sure it is similar, tho it's probably run closer to the sears/penney's/macy's of today. i applied for a job there.
any info is appreciated. thanks in advance.
(oh, i can hear it already...don't do it !!! save yourself, etc). i figured i'd get the real poop here. thanks again.

It can't be too bad, turnover is low in our store, and most working there have been there for years. about the only time I see someone new is during the 4th qtr. when sales pickup for xmas.

I just saw a great blog about Sears portrait studios - just google it and I think you will find it.
Seems like they are going through lots of turnover and turmoil right now too.
I would say in this economy - any place that is advertising for jobs to fill - probably has some kind of issue going on.
Sears and their affliates seem to always being hiring - while reducing hours of employees at the same time.
Sure lots of people applying - they get their computer training - work a few days or a week - quit or just don't show up.
Given the lack of jobs - that says something about working for Sears.
But read the blog and see for yourself.

Just read the job vent site - sorry - but I had no idea they didn't wash the props in alot of the stores - yuck!
If you read the blog I mentioned seems like they are having the people in portrait studio doing way too much work too.
I am not against hard work - but there is only a certain amount a person can do - at some point there is a breaking point.

its the same all over our company in virtually every job. Do more faster with less and next year no matter what you did the past year you will have to do more than that... How many plates can we keep spinning until they start to come crashing down>? and does the company care that the plates are starting to crash down???
