Sears gets a new apparel and home executive: John D Goodman. Has Kmart on his resume along with Charlotte Russe. Article said Goodman will be based out of San Francisco.
The interesting thing here that Sears said it will opening executive offices in San Francisco. The break up of Hoffman begins?
Or it simply getting closer to all that Made In China product.

I'll say it's because CA, NY or FL is where all the partying to going on. Soon HQ will be based somewhere else and not in Chicago anymore. The tower is sold why stay.

Sears hasn't been in the tower since 1993, and actually sold the building in 1994.

Some more interesting things from the Chicago Tribune. This guy Goodman worked at places like the Gap and Old Navy as well. He would not elaborate wether the office set up in San Francisco was because he already lived there or it's being moved there(I think both). Said they want to attract new talent(I guess there's no/old talent near the windy city)-Less than 5 years in and starting from scratch eddie? ...NOW ? ;4+ years later you wait to change ???.
And he's there to increase profitability but not remake the brands.

There's a kick-ass Macy's right in downtown San Francisco. He probably goes there to not only buy his clothes, but to "incorporate" designs.
He sounds like a Westchester County-type, not rich enough for Greenwich. Probably lives in one of the former ghettos of SF that the gays cleaned up, and the str8 folks moved into.
If he was in charge of home goods at Kmart, he's really another doofus. Post-bankruptcy was when they started diluting the Martha lines, but couldn't really come up with anything compelling enough to keep in long production. Plus there was plenty of suppliers still leery of dealing with Kmart, even though Eddie's wallet was "open" to welcome them back.
At least he's got some type of retail background. Sometimes just having something can be a minor glimmer of hope. He fits in well at SHC based on that.

jb-was in charge of Kmart homegoods
Yep, Eddie using retreads that in some respects were probably ment to be temporary execs at post bankrupt Kmart.
The thing that's still a little fuzzy is the executive office in San Fransico. Is that how desperate Eddie is for executive talent letting an exec telecommute. If I were an ex Kmart exec from Michigan who was forced to make a choice of quiting or relocating to Hoffman I'd be blowing gaskets right about now. Or any exec that wanted to or wants to telecommute and was denied I would be pretty ticked. Best Buy tried their operation ROWE or telecommuting for a while to semi mixed results. That could be why the crew is being quite on why he was allowed to get an office in San Fran.
Or perhaps they are going to continue their planned breakup announced almost 2 years ago at this point.
