I sent this to http://www.sportsline.com/help/contactus/usersspeak

I do not know who I should direct this email, so I am going to start here. Superbowl is a family event! I don't know who is in charge of selecting and choosing programs and entertainers, but they did a lousy job this year. The pre-game show STUNK! Aerosmith is not even close to being family value oriented. Willie Nelson's reputation definitely is one of anti-anything that says he must behave morally in his relationships (a long list of infidelity), be fair and honest in business matters (his tax issues), or follow the laws the common people must adhere (his well publicized drug use). He is aged and so is his ability to perform. The half-time show was even worse! Janet Jackson appearing as a red-breasted Robin, shaking what seemed to represent the tail of an albino peacock, and strutting about with defiance, anger, and pent-up unsatisfied sexual tension. For all the money used to prepare this gravely disappointing show, we should have at least been able to hear and understand the words. Were the poor acoustics an effort to disguise what we really didn't want to hear? Oh Yeah! This is just how I want children, preteens, teenagers, struggling married couples of all ages, and the aging in our society to be entertained. YOU STILL DON'T GET IT! The best of the entire presentation of SUPERBOWL XXXVIII entertainment was the tribute to our lost astronauts, the beautiful rendition of the National Anthem, and the good sportsmanship and hard work of the Patriots and the Panthers. I suggest you refocus on what the AMERICAN FAMILY and people with disposable incomes like and want. It is time you stop wallowing with the least contributing elements to society and climb up for some fresh air.

Mrs DD, don't hold back now! Very Happy
I know you love music by some of the threads you've started, and I do too. And, I'm not against those particular artists even though they're not my thing. It just isn't the place. And, nowadays with pro athletes acting more like thugs, it seemed so great to see a real skillful game being played by skillful athletes, and being enjoyed by families.
Now Janet Jackson is getting exactly what she wanted-publicity. The same kind Brittany got kissing Madonna. They're sacrificing children for fame and money.
I hope Janet feels the heat. After all, Britanny and Madonna's kiss was on the MTV music awards where parents would expect an R rating. There were no apologies or federal investigations, but there is this time.

oh give me a break...the majority of americans don't care about what happened at the super bowl...stop being so damn conservative and sensitive about that stuff...grow up and DEAL with it...this country has been so ass backwards in its puritanical beliefs for too long and now they are trying to express there pent up feelings...there is a thing called the clicker, if you don't like it, change the channel

PS- What the hell is wrong with aerosmith?

you're absolutely right unhappy1314 - there is the remote - I tune in a program that is promoted as a "PURITANICAL" program but I have to be on constant guard with my remote to change channels or shut off because someone wants me to see them thumb their nose at society - every single day someone thumbs their nose at me, society, the government - don't promote a "NO Thumb Nosing" program and not deliver - it is the same attitude by some parents when their child says its first cuss word - "TEE-HEE, isn't that cute" - they think its funny and laugh - then they wonder why their obnoxious brat is swearing, being disrespectful, and other uncontrollable acts down the road - or how about buying a video rated for children and you have to fast forward through the R and X-rated previews - I am sick of giving the people who get the money a BREAK - GIVE ME A BREAK!

Unhappy, I don't have anything aginst Aerosmith. They cleaned up their act which is why they're still around and alive.
Sometimes parents get frustrated with things being forced down their kids throats. Whether it be racism, sexism, religion, or pornography. Deal with that.
Instead of thinking that it's about being puritanical, follow the money. They've apparently pulled the wool over your eyes.

I didn't watch the Superbowl. I never considered it as a family show. Most of people watch it for the commercials (which I heard were dissapointing). I asked my kids what they heard about it at school. They thought it was a publicity stunt and said they seen worse on other tv shows.
Surviver was worse with that bare-ass Richard running around.

i understand what you are saying, i guess we were just both a little bit heated with our messages, but i just hate how a lot of parents are blaming everybody but themselves when it comes to the raising of their children...they are looking too much for a scapegoat for their own misgivings.

The range of ages and cultures that watch the SuperBowl each year is immense. This year, just as in years past, the half time show did not include any music of my preference either. You don't see me complaining though, for a couple of reasons.

1. I accept the fact that this event is a huge commercial enterprise and commerce has to cater according to the latest trends.

2. I can listen to my favorite tunes any time in my own private environment.

Another interesting thing occured to me. Parents have no qualms at all taking their children to museums with "nice" paintings, parks with "nice" sculptures, etc. Yes, I understand, seeing an exposed breast on TV is very different than seeing one in real life on a famous painting or on a semi-famous sculpture (with broken off arms). After all, the latter two are "fake" .......... yet the former is the only one you can't touch. Hmmmm

Amazing how one little boob has gotten an entire nation talking.

I think it was a great game and a good show for its time. If I were to consider myself a bear, I wouldn't start moaning about the fact that rabbits won't dance to my music. I think no other bears should either, or vice versa.

;)

Kanaka - all points are legit - all opinions run the gammut - it is not this incident that has ruffled my feathers - it is just one of many straws - you know - the load of straw on the camel's back - which the camel labored to carry - until - until that straw which broke the camel's back - it was not the single straw that broke the camel's back - it was all those straws the person kept heaving up - one, then another, and another, and ... - at what point should he have stopped? - and there is something else that is being overlooked - the music and songs leading to the single "insignificant incident" - and the young man (Justin) - choreographed stalking, fondling, and the "TEARING" her garment from her breast - we are in the midst of hearing all about Kobe Bryant and the accuser's personal lives - every turn of the corner we are being made to witness all manner of sexual crime from infancy to the elderly - boy, what a hot moment that was for the targeted 18 yr. old male - it is not the bare breast - it is everything before and everything to come that is making this "STRAW" a forest
