There is a rumour flying around that some senior employees at some of the Home Centers have received a letter stating that the company anticipates that their position will no longer be available after Dec 31.
Is this an attemp to get high salary employees to quit in order to remove the burdens of compensation or what?

I think you're probably right. Also, when RONA first came on the scene here, there was talk of franchising the smaller stores. If indeed this is the case, it probably would look better to potential 'buyers' if the payroll was at an absolute minimum.
Not having the 'burdens' of compensation is just an extra little bonus for RONA.

Have also seen where many people out west are leaving alot from Surrey. This company owes the west nothing hence alot of new product from Quebec suppliers. Also wages seem to be on the way down Ive heard new hires don,t get pension
