I believe that the reason FD Managers dont surf the net as much is because, like myself, I only get a few hours to my self as it is, that there is really no time to do what Im doing on the net, but I have no life anyway, so this is my out I give myself right now. Im trying to get FD employees to speak out. To let FD know, that their scientific perfect written on paper, never experienced it, and just want to squeeze the last dime they can out of their store managers, store managment guide lines, JUST DOESNT WORK. The way the company expects us managers to run a smooth store on their budgeted plan, is in no concern of any employees quality of life. It is only their selfishness wants of that BIG BONUS....WHOOPPEE!!! that they care about. Not the employees, nor the store, but their selfs. Any company who could post the President, VP, and etc, annual salarys, their annual bonuses, to the public should be ashamed of their selfs. They should be punished by making them run one of their stores, on the budget and hours they gave, and see how fast they fall using the guidelines that they made, and see if some changes would be made upon their experience being in our shoes. How could any man have a conscience after he has flown in on the CO lear jet, walked in your store, sat down in your chair and looked you in the eye and tells you, this formula really works if youu just follow it, you will run a smooth store. Any man with manicured nails, doesnt convince me of anything but a tight wad who has never endured manual labor. Where are you FD employees. Dont lay low. Its not worth our quality of life being taken away just to give it to un appreciative corporate nobodys. And thats all I can say for now. Sleepless storemanager

storemanager,
are you the same store manager that posted recently at vault?
if you are, then i posted behind you.
i've found another site where there are more posters and the
posts are pretty much of the same nature as ours. here's the
thing that i have come to realize.. FD is about the MONEY and
nothing else. they do not put alot of effort into retaining employees, because if people are constantly leaving then they
are only ever paying the lowest starting rate, hence the emphasis on recruitment and the quick and easy newhire paperwork.look at hr policy (or lack of).look at the length of service of your d.m. when i go to work, i earn my money, i do my job and try to put on the best face that i can for the sake
of my coworkers and the teamwork that it takes to accomplish
even half of what is expected, but i know that as soon as i can
i will move on.
in the meantime, it helps me to be able to vent, or know for sure, that others are seeing the same picture i am and to hopefully inform others who maybe considering leaving an "okay"
job they already have for a "career" at fd of what they will
be getting into.

and by the way, that is the big myth isn't it? if you follow the
plan, it does work. they keep telling me that, saying they will
train us, and i ain't seen nothin' yet. the trainer didn't get the job done, so now what? the second big myth is the 52 hour
work week. cripes, the NEW manager is plotting his departure
and I ain't gonna work 52 hours or 70 or 80.Not ever again.

Hey crabbymoonloon, Its strange I cant figure out how to reply to you but only by private message and not on the net. So I think Im replying to myself,Oh well, So.....anyway, yes I am the one who posted on Vault, yet never again as they want you to pay for their services and thats just not going to happen so I did send you a PM, yet I like the awareness on the NET so everyone will see that, FD Employees are getting so screwed that they need to let everyone know this. Im wondering if maybe the over 2,000 FD employees who are in the current lawsuit, have a gag order on them until the case is over. Thats all I can think of except for "TIME".. No one really has time to surf the net when you work for FD. BUT,still, FD employees, even former, man,..... where are they????

Hey storemanager:
No worries, your replies are out there for all to see.
other sites for you to look at, as I do daily, are:
http://www.retailworker.com
http://www.meetretailworkers.com
http://www.retailsucks.com
and for a few laughs http://www.customerssuck.com
I'd suggest reading the other store's boards as well. You'll learn alot by doing so, especially Sears, as they are the MOST ACTIVE on all of these boards. Walmart and Target are also usually a good read as they are the most like our stores, just a bigger version...
And DON'T GIVE UP.

some of the sites that i have visisted and found family dollar
employees posting are ripoff report.com the complaint station
aol stock quotes has a message board for fdo and employees
sometimes post there. and planetfeedback has some employee
posts although most of them are older, i think. yahoo has finance message boards, but only investors usually post there,
but it is still interesting to read sometimes and you also begin
to realize that alot of the things that fdo does is to keep those
financials looking good to keep investors investing.
and by all means for a chuckle or even just to vent visit customerssuck.com everyone is friendly and will welcome any posts you make.

Hi DGFlorida and Crabbymoonloon,
Ok...so Im a Blonde. I finally figured out to click on Post Reply and NOT PM.
Thanks for the info. Rip off reports is great but only older messages. Im really interested in talking to Lance from FD in New Mexico. I had heard through the grapevine of FD that he left FD and I would like to talk to him because we share same District and I would like to compare as Im having hard time with same people. Anyway, Im not giving up and I got to go as Loss prevention has decided to give me a visit and they think Im unaware to mystery shoppers.
Sneek to you later HA HA
