I hope that all that live in Florida made it thru the storm. I hope everybody is well and nobody was hurt or did not have any damage.

This was a sad affair. They evacuated close to two million people right into the path of Charley. This looks to be a particularly active year in Hurricane Alley. Already, forecasters have an eye on Tropical Depression Five. Two weeks down, two and a half months to go.
Stay safe, everyone.

Yes, our prayers are with everyone in Florida. I keep an eye on the weather, regaurdless if I'm affected or not, I hate natural disaters. So I pray for all that may have lost a home or even worse a loved one. I heard a little 4 year old girl was killed by a moving van on the highway during the hurricane. I can't stand that. My prayers are with them. Just not fair. Take care all.

Actually, that accident happend HOURS before Charley arrived. It was a feeder band, and offshoot of the storm, that cause that 18 wheeler to tip over. They are still attributing the accident to Charley. Still very sad.
They are talking to about the 100's of reported missing people in Punta Gorda... and that deputies are guarding "stacks" of bodies at a trailer park down there.

Things are chaotic here. I am in central FL. Gained access to our store a few hours ago...although still no power...Top floor is prestty soggy, holes in the roof let water through the stockrooms and D8. We are reporting in the morning to start the clean up! Everyone around here is OK, a lot of structural damage, a lot of clean up to do....but life goes on. Unfortuantely I think Associate night is going to be a wash. Even if we are able to open tomorrow, I doubt many will be out...everyone is cleaning up their own houses. Thank You to all who said their prayers and wished us the best!! Looks like we made it through with little fatalities. They are saying about 13 right now across all of FL.
Thanks again for keeping FL in your thoughts!

We ended up closing early in our part of NC. It was a mistake as the storm blew through quickly, but it's much better to be safe than sorry. And, I've enjoyed the day off.
My thoughts to those of you in Florida-proof it could have been a LOT worse.
