Can someone give me an idea of the starting hourly wage in appliance sales at Home Depot for someone with 10 years selling experience with sears brand central? Thanks..

At the new HD where I work, the average hourly wage is $12.50+. There is talk about a pilot program at some stores where spiffs from the various manufactures are paid in addition to an hourly wage. If this is true, HD will be more in line with the pay structure at Lowe's in the appliance department. A friend of mine just began working at a new Lowe's store in the appliance department. She is making $18.75+(including spiffs). Hope this helps.

Hey there jh06703. Haven't heard from you in awhile. Last I heard, you were a little concerned about the direction that your store in Alaska was headed w/ the new Lowe's opening up and cutting hours and all that. How are things now??

Hey Someone. Doing great at the HD. 90 day review was fine. I am now receiving the extra $.50 per hour. Managers are great to work for. I just do not like the hours being cut for all part-time associates. Many good people left because of this. I am part time and do not need this job, so I don't mind the lack of hours. Sometimes it is not worth the effort to come in for so few hours. I am being transfered to appliances because of my Sears experience in selling commissioned items for so many years. I am looking forward to this new assignment. Our night crew is doing a great job. Our store managers continually express their appreciation to the night crew. So far, this new HD is a good place to work. The only major concern is the management of people's hours.

All right! Glad to hear it. Also, I did get your PM. The whole hours thing is always a tough beast to handle. I will say that having the right ratio of FT to PT is critical. at our store, between 40/60 and 30/70 is accurate. Last spring season we were way off, and once things slowed down, part timers were sometimes getting 0 hours for weeks on end because we had too many full timers and were over in hours.
Keep us informed on things.
Take care.
