I am curious how many stores actually have Recovery teams. All of us spend up to an hour or hour and a half after closing straightening the mess left by shoppers. After a busy day it's unbelievable.

Our store only had a recovery team a week or two during the Christmas season but I rarely even saw them...we often stayed 1 1/2 hrs or more during that time. I remember a few times leaving at midnight!!
I think its a shame to keep associates who've worked 9 hours already to stay that last hour but its sometimes needed...what is a problem is when the store IS clean and forcing us to stay to 10:30 when its 10:00 and the store is clean but closing managers are too busy playing on the Internet in their offices! Between FreeCell and Solitaire, its a wonder any work is done by SOME closing managers. Oh but there's also playing on the walkies...and making fun of the associates. What business school/education did these people get?? Romper Room??
Another thing, why force the commission staff to stay an hour? If I were commission, I'd refuse!! They're getting a draw for what they sell and being forced to stay an hour to clean up a store and loose money doing so. I can understand forcing them to stay to clean their department but they should leave when done!! Furniture people have absolutely NO BUSINESS being respons. for cleaning the Misses department!!!

Commission associates can be required to give one hour per day of non-sell activity. In our store recovery is a Total team effort involving everyone in the building, including the manager.

Actually I am head of our recovery team. We call it Utility and we are here year round. We make it so the store doesnt have to stay open so late just cuz its a mess. Its obviously busy especially during Christmas or Holidays...day after thanksgiving and so on...but its a pretty good job and my team is cool. There are about 5-8 of us depending on how busy it is, but this time of year it is pretty slow.
