There are a lot of rumors about the Target team getting ready for K-Marts 11th hour. Personally I really hope it happens, I would rather work with a clean respectable company like yours than a heaping sess pool like K-Mart, There is a reason you guys are 2nd retailer and looking at your stores says it all. Your clean, and the layout of the store is awesome. What would be better than the Craftsman, Kenmore names to be sold at Target. Well there is 1 Wally-World Falls. We both know K-Mart is a helpless Cause, we also know Sears name is also respectful we also know Sears is clean. So it only makes sense Target and Sears team up to take on Wal-Mart.

I am a current Sears commision sales associate. supposedly, the merger with K-mart was to make both companie respectable while they somewhat run independently. However, Lambert, the CEO of KMArt has had to much power in chainging the way in which Sears operates(More like Kmart) when Sears was always the stronger company finacially. this is very scary as I am already seeing a eminent decline in buisness. While I believe that Wal-Mart is digging its own grave with poor buisness practices and horrible press as of late a merger with Target would have extremely strong. I see a Target takeover as the number 1 retailer very soon. sears may have dug its own grave as well. K-Mart has been dead in the wter for a long time.

There is a growing anti-Walmart sentiment that is really picking up steam lately. Aside from the news stories, I hear alot of regular individuals that say they try to avoid shopping there because of Walmart's strong armed tactics with suppliers and their ever growing crappy import merchandise as well as several other reasons.
I think that any retailers that can avoid the guillotine in the next few years may actually recover after Walmart is put in check by the consumers. The tide is slowly shifting.
While everybody has their head up their ass, Target seems to be in the best spot to ride that wave to the top as Walmart starts to faulter. They also can expand geographically, alot of growth potential and offering consumers a "non-tainted" alternative.

Too much power? He owns a majority share of the company and looking to buy more. It's not like he's in some appointed position here. He bought his position with his own money.
Now, don't get me wrong. I HATE what he did (killed) to Sears, Roebuck & Company, but face the fact that SR&C does not exist anymore. It died last March 24th. This is a new company with new leadership and new goals, and operating as a leading retailer is NOT one of them.
It's all about real estate and the sale of assets. As soon as you understand and accept that fact (notice, I'm not saying like it or agree with it), the more sense things will make to you. Certainly, if you're a true retailer, you wouldn't be doing ANYTHING Eddie is doing.

i am a current sears employee, and there has been nothing good come from the merger w/ kmart. every month, lampert and lacey are doing more to kill us. we have almost no stock and have to order everything, but most is back ordered. they are killing our discount, and the general public in my town hates us maybe a little more than walmart. i went from doing two to three thousand during the week, to busting my butt to just break a thousand in sales. being taken over by sears would not be any better than walmart. we are too far gone to come back and see the end of sears in less than five years.

I don't believe it is Eddie taking over Target but, Eddie hoping Target will BUY Sears/Kmart. That way he gets his money and moves on. That's what he does, buys and sells.
