Last friday, our store started this "Super Blitz". Now every Friday, after huddle, all team members goes to the front main(around the snacks/food area) and search for outdated product/food items(i.e. condoms, hoho's, cereals, cookies, twinkies, etc.).
Isn't the pullers/zoners working daily pulls suppose to put the new pulled items to the back and the current items on the shelf pushed forward?(They probably don't have the time. ) I'm just trying to recall the training salesfloor video 2 years back about it, when i've first started.
Does any other stores do this? How about a super zone(we haven't done those in a hand full of months)?

The flow process is supposed to have the team members pushing the freight rotate the older stock to the front as they push it. Zoners are also supposed to pull older product forward. However, as you stated, who has time to? So now I see they've come up with another way to waste salesfloor payroll...they should have the almighty flow team doing that.

Hey thanks for the input. Yes us flow team member are MIGHTY and l337! ...but we're now having(again) a tight payroll sched. these upcoming couple of weeks....not again! But that does lead back to "do we have the time". Oh and shockingly(crazy adverb), we didn't do the Uber Omega l337 Blitz today(friday)[love saing that ]

You should know by now that nothing happens the way it is supposed to at our store! I remember asking if we were to rotate, and was told that we are supposed to, but no one gives a crap if we do. I cant wait to buy some of that week old milk tomorrow!

Our store now does SBT (scanned based trading) with the milk vendor, meaning that the vendor brings in his own product and takes out outdated product without being scanned in and without having to go to Chargebacks for a credit. We do not go through any of thier product anymore. Whatever doesn't sell is the milk companies problem now, not ours. From what I understand, Target will allow other vendors to follow suit to this new SBT program.

We have a vendor for milk as well(don't even have coolers in the back) which is sad, because even then we have outdated crap on the shelf! Mmmmm. Chunky!

Hehe just thought about the homer simpson bottle openers... lol. "mmmm beer" Anyways, we have a vendor for our milk too.. funny, wouldn't know it. My friend just got sick off of it. Anyways, strange that some stores don't have venders.
