i have a question , when you are sick
do they take away vac. days to add up to 48 hrs. i have been sick with a recurring illness. and have been down and out for a week. went home with 104 fever on a fri. night. went to er sat. and have been out since then ,total out days will be 5. i had two sick days and was informed my vac. will be pulled to bring my check up to 48.hrs. per week !?! can they do that. when i request vac. i'm only allowed to take 8 hrs. a day. i think someone is pulling a fast one, and they think i'm to sick to notice. no one else where i work has had this done.
Confused

they should have asked you if you wanted vacation time pulled in to make the 48 or whatever. If not then pay you for 2 days only since you only have 2 days of sick pay.

Check policy, if you are variable salary and have exhausted all sick time, then yes, they can use any earned vacation time for your sick hours and they do not have to ask you if they can. Unfortunately this would be due to some people abusing the system.
