worked at lowe s for 2 yrs ,as a csa, specailist and dept mgr,
all in in the flooring dept. today is my first official day as a non lowes employee. i left to get out of retail. im tired of too many late nights not seeing my family and working overtime for peanuts. I am about to start a sales job working mon-fri and no nites and more money than i was making at lowe s.lowe s is a great company, but retail is retail, it is long hours and low pay until you get into upper mgmt or if you are a specialist and you can sell.so many people say the same thing over and over on this board, no matter what store you work in, the problems are pretty much the same.you either deal with it or get out of retail. i was told if you don t like it then leave, that is what i did and i am extremely happy. good luck to all working this holiday weekend

I like Lowes and I like the retail industry as a whole. I like dealing with the customers at Lowes, even though 90% of them are idiots and dont know what they are talking about. Im in the Logan WV store.

i worked in a very busy store in ny ,#1 volume in our district,
many challenges, recieving area too small, young , immature employees, and high volume makes the job as dept mgr very stressful, but if you like retail ,than stay at lowes and work your way up if that is want you want or stay at your position, take advantage of the 401 k and stock plan, long term they are both great investment tools

I didnt think no one else had enough sense to even know this site existed online in my little store. i have a good idea who you might be. Im down to 3 on who it is, and I have a good idea to who they are. I think 2 of the choices work in the same area of the store, and the other might just work in one of the busiest departments in the store, besides lumber and lawn and garden. Yes I know my job is at risk, but actually havent said a bad thing about Lowes on here, just concerned problems.

focus meetings are wayyyyy important...

have any of you heard of gallup... the gallup survey and focus meetings go hand and hand... we do our focus meetings to help employees as well as ourselves...

saftey meetings
weekly dept. manager meetings
sales specialist meetings
focus meetings

they help us understand the problems then fix them... only way to be perfect..

aka Customer Focus bonus... !!!!!
