Just curious how has business been since the recharge with sears? At the store that i am at, sales have been pretty slow. Even though we have alot of fancy signs up and we are advertising heavily sears.com in our white goods section(sort of a conflict of intrest for the sales person to have to compete with our own .com sales) it has done little to impact our sales in a positive way. Tell me how is everyone else fairing?

In my store sales are up a tad. I'm sure it's not because of the so called "Recharge".
I don't think danceing and singing to old BTO tunes by lameass SGM's did it. ~GoodFella

I am not on commison anymore, thank god,but where is the incentive now? It's almost why bother to have your customer by a higher end. I feel for all you comm. people!

I don't believe our sales are any different because of relaunch. We still play the same crappie 50fties music. Who wants to shop to fifties music.
(no offence to fifties lovers)

our sales don't seem to be up either. lord knows, we are not closing any more of the "lowend" customers than we did before, just losing commission on the high end. i HAVE noticed more .com orders in the stock room and more people calling on the phone with questions on "item numbers".

Nope. It's all thanks to having 100% of the stock 100% of the time (or maybe 70% of the stock 75% of the time in my departmen), but either way it's all 100% because of our new store manager. And i'm also driving a new ferrari and dating Jenna Jameson.

Sales are flat at my store...............I blame it on vacations and RAIN (construction is slowed). I, too, noticed the barrage of Sears.com sign and was furious. Mgmt's answer was that the store still gets revenue from the .com sale. My answer was....I don't get a cut of the sale and Sears is suggesting my customer leave & order from Sears.com. My BCASM said the ISM team wouldn't do it, but we could get the inserts from the ISM room and cover up the .com signs next to the pricing sign. It's worth a try

Your right, we don't get a cut but we sure get all the questions from the dot.com's.
I like your idea. ~GoodFella

the only thing that i like about sears.com is when someone comes in and says something like "hi, i saw this on sears.com and i want to purchase it." do you have any questions about it? "nope." Can i put this on your sears card?
nothing like a 3 second sale.

Most correct, DC! A lot of people that are super anal research on the internet......then they just come in and buy. Now that most everything pays the same, who really cares what they buy? Saves me the time standing around and watching them take notes........My store is near UC Davis......home of many Birkenstock wearing engineers......sometimes I just say "do you know you can get all of the spec sheets online???" Oh and one of my favorite lines is when of them says "you know I am engineer".....I always say "OH your work for the railroad?????"...they usually just turn around and leave after that! The moral of the story is that the website is usefull sometimes!

Not one thing has changedinour store since the "recharge" started. All I have noticed is alot of new signs and nothing more. We don't have any more new customers. We still are out of stock 90 percent of the time.

I left on July 2nd for my vacation and I had to laugh we have next day delivery signs all over the store. You know what i was pulling up dates of July 11th the earliest july 7th for people with a broken refrigerator. The only change i think most of us will see is the fact that my calculation is probably right we were screwed 25% in commission. I kept track everyday and my pay was down 20-25% same with two other co workeers

Business actually went down and store still suffers from out-of stocks,items/lines of merchandise not carried, high employee turn over, stupid POGs,re-emphasized conversion which actually slowing customers experience down etc-

We took down the next day delivery signs in our store. In most cases it just wasn't true and the customers were getting very angry.

The only thing that has changed is the delivery times are now out to almost a week everyday! Customers laugh at the "next day delivery & take it home today " signs.

Not good on timing on the relaunch I guess they do not have to do their share of being serious. They will blame it on the associates when they do not work anyways. I think before you hang the sign you should meet the criteria. When the customers did not expect it they did not get angery now they get ticked when they read this walking through brand central. Then just think if you do sell to that customer they take the frustration out on your stalking survey. I have to laugh in our store the ones with the worst survery reports on the ten year million dollar salesman.

It just makes us look bad!! They jumped the gun. Not like them they are usually the last in each race. They get merchandise when it is already worn out in fade, they even jumped into six sigma when all other companies tried and failed this is so out of character for them to advertise something they have not worked out. Especially with the delivery system we have we are lucky it get there now in one piece let alone rushing
