I am currently in the process of applying at the orange for the ASM positions. Does anyone have any feed back as far as the ASM life/role. For example: Hours worked, days off, advancement chances?

Yes,
You will not have a life after becoming an A.S.M. You will end up working a 55-60 hour work week. It wont be 40!!!!
Good Luck as they need some good A.S.M's. Also make sure you negotiate a hefty salary upfront.

If you are currently working for Lowes, stay there. If not, skip Home Depot and apply at Lowes.
