Yep. my gross reward equals about $1.66 per week worked. As a Dept Manager in the #1 volume store in the District, I would normally work 55 - 60 hours per week. I am so glad I left Lowes almost 2 years ago. As alot of folks already know, I would have been gone anyway after joining the suit.

After 3 years - my husband's check was $173 after taxes. I think we should all send them back and get our own lawyers. There was someone on another site who used a private lawyer and got $38,000 !

Hey Cab Man
I have a Lawyer that is handling another FSLA case for me.
He said that almost no Lawyer will take an individuals case that has already joined the class action, whether they send the check back or not. And none will do it on contingency.
It would cost a thousand just to look into it.
This suit has set a preceedence so not much more can be expected.
Lowes and the Law Firms can keep the details sealed until every single person involved has settled, which will take years.
Also, the Judge would have set the Lawyer percentage and it wouldnt change no matter how many Firms joined. If they got 40% of 10 million they would have to split the 40%.
Good luck to all of you, we all deserved better.

Words won't accomplish anything as all of us have been shown the true meaning of justice in "Corporate America". THE LAWYERS have lead us to believe they were working in our interests and they would fight for our rights. I for one am not surprised by the amount, just deeply disappointed.
After working since April 2003, setting up a new store, putting up with a SM that has no amount of people skills and has belligerent way of handling associates. A sales manager who has the personality of a bale of cardboard, this is my reward ..........................
gross $525.50 net $322.39
What can we do? first take a deep breathe ... let more people post and vent ... pay attention to posts that have someone with legal connections. See what are the options are.
Emailing Fox news/Business ...CNBC... CNN... local papers might be a good place to start, but make sure we empress upon them that the Freedom of The Press should not be restricted because of a LARGE advertiser "LOWES" and they should find out the truth... we will tell them.
Calling is better, but emailing your congressman is another option. Emailing local papers, trade magazines, Wall Street Journal. Making flyers to put on windshields >>>NOT IN LOWES PARKING LOT......HD..Walmart.. Target.
One more thing .... on the letter it says if we send the checks back " Class council will no longer represent you in this or any other case". What do they mean "in this"???? Is this all or are there other cases to be settled???
Sorry I was soooooo long on this post but I have read each and every one of the posts and I wanted to impress upon every one to not have a knee-jerk reaction. After all that is what we dislike about who we work for as well as many other things we hate about LOwEs

$141.10. I get screwed out of more than that every week I worked for LOWES. 40 hours straight time for $15.00 and then
an extra 10 hours or more for $5.00 for each hour. The lawyers proved it was illegal and we got screwed again. They let LOWES off the hook by leting them settle rather than seeing it through. I bet they got their millions while we got s***. If someone starts another suit, please let me know. I'm
angry as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore. This is an
OUTRAGE!!!

Honestly!! What do you expect. Its corporate America. Take advantage of your workers. #1 reason I quit lowes is because of the politics within the stores that flowed upward. Its BS. Let me know also if there is another suit.

My husband has worked for Lowe's for over 10 years. During the time covered by the lawsuit, he most likely put in over 1000 hours of overtime each year. Our check was $262 after taxes. It's my understanding Lowe's froze the performance incentive pay (the stock match based on a percentage of your pay) for 2 years to pay for this lawsuit. Meaning, we would normally have received about $3500 in stock over the next two years, and instead we got a check for $262. I guess the lawyers got the rest of our money!

Received my check this week. A pitiful $198.00 after taxes. I am absolutely outraged. But not surprised. We can all be assured that the law firms got what they deserved.lol I worked for this pathetic company for almost two years and almost from the start I could see what kind of people they are. It's difficult to believe they consider themselves Americans, even human beings at times the way they mess up peoples lives.
This type of treatment of employees by corporate america will continue as long as no one stands up to them. Corporate America is putting billions in their pockets at the expense of the employees. The only way to stop this is to form unions and you must be ready to stand the line for as long as it takes. The employees in this country , standing together, could virtually run this country. You would have the power to shut down any company who mistreats their employees. The power to elect only the politicians who truly believe in a government of the people, by the people and for the people. Not like our current government. This country was built on the backs of the hard working employees down in the trenches doing what ever it takes to make this a better country. Unfortunately, corporate america has reaped the majority of the benefits and most of the money and our politicians have allowed it to happen. You can bet our forefathers are all lying face down in their graves because of what goes on in the country that they founded over 200 hundred years ago.
Stand up and fight before it's too late and make this a better country for our grandchildren. [/b]

I gave up over 3 years of my life to this company. I helped open the number one and "go to" store in my district. From the start I was doing overtime and strongly believed in the "Lowes Family" BULLS**T! I have developed ideas for the store and individual departments that corporate even implemented in stores. After all the b/s and politics and going through 3 store managers in 3 years, I quit due to belligerent ways of management. AND I MEAN BELLIGERENT! I used to come in on days off almost all the time, even with my 4 year old daughter, and did open to closes a couple times a week along with coming in on days off.......what did I get.......$353.00!!!! What the hell is this!?!?!?!?! I need to know, we all need to know, is there anyone out there that has had any luck at all talking to a private lawyer about this.

That will make room for more of the "Rickels" click that moved into district 1243. Especially in store 1535 on up to the district/regional positions. People have left this store because they knew they were not part of this "click" and would not be allowed to move up in ranks before them. Love politics!

I consider myself very conservative and believe in capitalism. But in light of what Lowes has done to us with this slap in the face settlement, I strongly wish the Union on them. That would put a stop to their practices and guarantee that this will never happen again.
I wish every current employee in all 50 states would contact their local retail workers union. Lowes cannot stop it, even in the non-union, right-to-work states.
All of us that are no longer employed with the company should be getting with the unions and spreading the word INSIDE OF EVERY LOWES !!!

Cabinetman, This was from the Smith/Evans case. Smith for Ohio and Evans for PA Counsel for Ohio is Barken Neff Handelman Meizlish, LLP and PA Winebrake Law Firm, LLC. Judge Richard Caputo presided.
