Hi , Im from a store in region 14(west coast) and I was wondering if ALL the stores were doing this.
Ill explain what it is justincase your store dosent do it, if your store does id be interested in knowing how its interpeted and enforced by your managers.
Impact hour , some call it "Power hour" is at our store from 11am to 1pm EVERYONE is to be on the sales floor helping customers. No lunches or breaks are susposed to be taken. Also the receiving people have to be on the floor as well only the RTM clerk is allowed to be in receiving during impact hour, he/she is to page one recever to receiving if a delivery shows up, then after the delivery truck leaves they are back out on the floor.
So I was just wondering how far this thing goes??

We have something like that kind of, but those two programs are two very different things.
Our "power hour" is where we have everyone in the store down one or two aisles downstocking each box, and reorganizing the rest. This happens for an hour after the morning meeting. Only happens on nontruck days.
Our "Impact Hours" go from 10am to 7pm. It's where we have a designated person in each department where they just focus on walking the aisles helping each customer. During this time, they aren't supposed to work on any projects, ie downstocking. Pretty much everyone in the store on the salesfloor is suppsed to be helping everyone during that time. We limit all projects.

receiving is not going to the floor during that time at our store. There is no way. No power equipment on the floor during that time.

Our SM just announced that between 10am-2pm is 'Impact' time. Customer focused time. So, no power equipment, cleaning, downstocking, etc.. Also announced is that our stocking crew is going from 4am-1pm now to 7am-4pm. This is gonna be fun.

we do it 1000-1300. No pallets on the floor for the stocking crew. They just use blue carts to pull the freight around.
