How did the "green" sale go? How many exclusions did the 20% coupons have?

Our store was not any busier than a normal weekend. I keep hearing complaints from customers who don't want to spend money to save money. We are asking for donations to too many things. If Macy's wants a tax deduction they should give themselves and stop asking customers to do it for them! Or how about all corporate employees have to work in the stores and ask customers to donate!

I know. I heard an associate trying to push this on a customer the other day, and I felt embarrassed for her.

When I was in college, I walked around the mall with a can that said "Save the Whales". People gave me money. I never gave it to the whales. I wonder where the Macy's money this weekend actually went.

Well if it was $5.00, then .50 cents went to the park foundation and the rest went to Macy's.

I promise to be good!! First act of business will be to remove Terry Lundgren from office. I will write it into his contract that in order to get his "golden parachute" after the take over he has to work at State Street for no less than 6 months.

You have to understand it was during a time when the country was concerned with pollution and ecology. You don't see as much of that anymore. They like to use the word "green", but that's more of a business term.

How many whales have you seen? That's why you need to save them. So, when you actually go looking for them, they will be there.

South, I like the way you think...
But now that I think of it, isn't the same true of Macy's Sales Associates? How many of THEM have you seen lately? That's why you need to save them, so that when you go looking for them, they will still be there....
