Can anyone tell me; if you are "capped", will you get a bonus every year? Do you have the option of asking for a wage increase instead of taking the bonus?

The only way that you will still get a bonus is if you get an Exceptionally Exceeded Expectation again. If you do not get that rating, you get nothing.

if an associate is capped, then they receive a bonus.

i know junior managers that are capped, like a couple of scheduling managers, that are capped and only receive a bonus.

teams do win....but the most important is.....

RESULTS MATTER!!!

MLBeast, is it true that if you are capped, you can only get your bonus if your review is EEE? They hardly give those out! Even with my credits at 280% I only got a ME last year! Plus, with part of your review being the "team goals", no one at my store will get anything above ME.

I just realized that I wrote earlier that EEE was the highest rating which you could get on an annual review but I made a mistake... brain spasm I guess. The top rating is HEE {Highly Exceeded Expectations}. My GSM, last year, told me that in order to get a merit bonus again I would have to achieve the HEE again since my hourly rate was capped.

last year was the first year of a review with macy's. i was above their cap of $11.58 an hour. i got a HEE and so i got a bonus lump sum. my gsm said he asked the SM if i could get a raise instead and he said no.

oh polli.....welcome to macy's scheduling. i am not a big fan of flex scheduling and i do not see the "rotation" that they are talking about. i wish they had adapted to may company scheduling. it was much easier and more predictable.

yes, if you are capped, and receive a raise, like an HEE, you get a lump sum. you can not have it spread out during the year.

there are two sales level jobs, 1 and 2. most positions are level one, for example, a full timer in accessories. an impulse associate would be a level 2. the starting rates are higher but not by much.

also, some stores, depending on location, can ask for more that the average hourly rate for an associate. there is a form that needs to be filled out, any resume and a copy of the front page of the application. this is then sent to your HR manager and or HR manager of compensation.

p.s. paper applications are on there way out. kiosques are coming to store to replace those applications!!

good luck to everybody on their review!!!!

Poor Polli. So it took 2 years for your store to get Macyized. I went down the mall to a legacy Macy and got the "culture shock" of flex scheduling immediately. I feel sorry for anyone having to do this now... it's not easy to get used to if you were on May Dept stores scheduling rotations. What really gets my blood pressure up is that in my store we are only allowed to use ONE personal day on a weekend per year! That is because of Macy's precious "weekend compliance".

Polli, are the martini's being served now? I now it is still early morning here but it's 5 o'clock somewhere. Surprised

MLBeast, what is an "impulse" associate?
I don't see how they can call Macy's schedules a rotation. They do not rotate! You cannot make plans, b/c you will get scheduled on what you thought would be your day off. Mayco's scheduling was much better, and more fair.
If you are capped, will you still get a raise if your review is ME?

maycylady....impulse is a department of better sportswear for women.

hr has looked at our reviews, the spread sheet with everybody's rating has been completed, but we are waiting for the rest of the info, like rates and what people will get based on their score. hopefully this week, so the appraisals can be administered.

we have been dealing with macy's flex scheuling for over a year now and it is a pain. i know that other divisions of the company are at different points of the transition. has every division gone to macy's paid time off??? as i remind all former may associates...if you are sick and IF you are entitled to sick days...then call fds-bene and take the sick day. do not take a floating holiday!!!

i do believe that sick pay or associates will go away next year. macy's does not have sick pay for their associates.

I get 13 paid days every year. No weekends, summers off, and a set schedule. After the 3:15 mark I can work at home. Don't get me wrong its a ton of work, but it is very rewarding!

Education was a good choice Smile

It requires a lot of work during the summers, but u can do it at home, vacation on your own terms and not on Macy's, and the best part is that during the summers, there are no customers (students and parents) to deal with Smile
