|
|

Hello? I do have a question to ask. I have worked for Lowe's for 4 years now, and I have noticed that the quality of product has fallen. For esp., we got rid of a line of cabinets that were decent quality to a lesser line that totally sucks. They're a quality of cabinets that would make you laugh. They do cost less for the customer, but have more problems then the older set. Easier to break, ding up, and so on. I have noticed other products as well. Such as Quikete going by the way of Sackete. An off brand to replace Quikete. There are the tools that are not worth buying such as: Task Force and Kobalt.
I just wanted to know if this is an attempt to force the customer to buy things thru Special Order Process at a higher rate? Love to hear back...

The worst products are the whirlpool water heaters. I ended up going through 2 before getting whirlpool to replace it with a bradford white.

What the hell is "beaf"? Whirlpool slaps their name on the waterheater and after going through 2 of them, both of which were inferior products, I ended up with a bradford white waterheater. Therefore I associate the whirlpool name with crap.
Here is the website.
http://www.bradfordwhite.com/
Also GE waterheaters are very inferior

You could be living in a rural area that uses well water or extremely hard water and that is hard on the water heaters. Sometimes it's the environment that the water heater is put into not the actual product.
Frigidaire is definately an inferior product that Lowe's sells. The Electrolux is just expensive Frigidaire crap.
We used to carry Cambell-Hausfeld air compressors which were decent. The Kobalt ones are not quite as good.

2 times I have had problems with the thermal coupler. I had the water checked because orginally i thought it was hard water, however I had all new pipes installed by the city and the test came out negative for calcium or any calcium deposits were found.

yes, american water heaters had a problem with the thermal coupler, that led to lowe's pulling all replacement ng couplers off the shelf. this was due to a lawsuit settlement in the courts of some state. that also led to lowe's remerching all american water heaters with newer models and a better coupler. i have been asked many times where to get a thermal coupler in the past and always had to refer them to whirlpool.
now, we have replacement couplers that customers can take with them after providing some info about the water heater and they do not have to pay for the part.
all of this can be found on lowe's net under appliances/home enviroment/water heaters.

American Water Heaters are poor quality when compared to Bradford White. Before coming back to Lowe's I was an HVAC tech for Sear's Home Repair at the time when we took over the service contract for American. It seems like at least once a week I went on a call where there was a problem with them. Half of the calls were for leaks. Most of them were fairly new (within 3 months) and one was just installed and it was leaking in the burner box.

I notice on alot of the Kobalt hand tool line alot of 'made in China'.Isn't Kobalt made by Danaher who also makes Gear Wrench and Craftsman.Am I looking at odd lots or that's the way it's going?.
One reason I mention it I see alot of the 'these tools are so comfortable you'll never stop working" commercials.I don't know- a serious mechanic might be disappointed and a hard core craftsman might be disallusioned if not made in USA.At least the Kobalt line has seperated itself from the Husky line at HD.

I believe only the true hand tools are made by Danaher: Sockets, ratchets, screwdrivers. That's why Lowe's gives them the Lifetime Warranty.
Gearwrench is made by Danaher as well but it's made in Japan/Taiwan depending on the product.
As for the Air compressors, my store still carries the Campbell-Hausfield as well as Ingersoll-Rand.

Whirlpool water heaters (made by American Water Heater) are very bad.
There was a class action lawsuit a few years ago and we now give out thermocouples to people with problems.
But they still are having problems! All new model numbers were rolled out after the lawsuit and the return rate hasn't changed.

Hey pot, I'm kettle!, are you calling me black? I've read some of you post's, maybe you need to also!!!! Just look at your response-thats-proper is that's- idiot!
And by the way, there are no stores that have a TL above a Specialist, as you wrote in a previous post. That just shows you're probably a part timer and do not know any better but, THAT's OK. As for me, I'm an appliance specialist. I make great coin, sometimes I have to load appliances for cw's, but I'm OK with that because I know almost everytime I invoice an appliance, I get paid a little more than you do.
Also, Im in your post is I'm, so anytime you want to talk about proper english, give me a buz!!!!
I'm sorry, I try to write proper english when possible and no. I'm not a loader like yourself! I expected more of the USAF!

Dude, you don't want to go there! You're a Lowe's driver, what does that say about your career choice? And don't confuse your second quote with this thread, that was from a Region 5 lawsuit about mgrs getting fired for not doing their jobs, although, its impressive that you have combined the 2 threads!
Its one thing to knowhow to hook up appliances, its another to know which are the best for our customers and their needs.

Actually I do not work for lowes anymore.

In my old store the team leader was above the specialist. Why you may ask? Because the store manager stated that they were. The TL's wrote out worklists for specialists to do when they were not with customers. This included downstocking.

Actually I probably make more hourly than you do with your hourly and commission. Plus I get as much overtime as I want.

Actually no I have not used I'm. If anything, the only mistake I have found is the fact that I did not capitalize an "I".

I was never a loader. I worked LP when I worked for lowes. Also Iam honorably discharged from the USAF and I use it as my handle.

You just made my point! Things change, if your not in the know then you don't. As a current employee, and one that has seen the flow chart of a store, Specialist report directly to the sales mgr. We are not there to do basic task. Do we, yes because there a many times when there just is'nt that much going on.
As for being in LP, they are more out of touch with store opperations than anyone especially since they think they run the store.

You are a legend in your own mind! Your also either stupid or a liar. This your quote posted above, is it not? Or did someone hack into your pc?
Why you people who do not work for Lowe's continue to come to a site for Lowe's employees to post what happened when you worked for Lowe's is beyond me. Go somewhere where you are wanted.
Do you know what HDG is? Do you know what segment calling is? Do you have anything that's going to contibute to the current workings of Lowe's? No you don't!
Thanks for serving our country, I respect you for that. But don't come on here and post lies about people you do not know and then lie about your own post. Read your quote again, then pick out your gramatical errors. Again, if you want me to point them out for you, let me know!
