Is anyone out there using the ISST system?? If you are not you better hope the bugs are worked out of it before they implement it in your store. We have been using it for nearly 5 months and it has been a nightmare...

If you are not familiar with this system it is used by Flooring dept (and a few others) for installed sales. 50% of the time it's down and not working and it's back to Genesis.

I wish I knew who devised this program, but it came out too early,,,just way too many bugs yet, but we are stuck with it.

ISST rules. Got a 1 day training for it and they said it would be rolled out the week after. Months later it was rolled out and all the training I had was forgotten.

Buggy as hell.

I know the idea was to save time, but when you get to the end of the sale and it says "system error, contact your administrator", then you have to start all over with a paper contract, how is that good customer service? Now ISST won't allow us to sell a WEX appliance with an install, and once something goes nonstock, good luck getting the system to pull it up. When it first came out, even with all the bugs, we were threatened with write-ups if we kept using the paper contracts! Also, they have taken away all the installed sales books that used to be at our desks. So now if i want to tell someone how much an install in another department is i have to log into ISST and waste the customers time. Has that happened everywhere?

How about calling the other department or your sales manager to find out pricing on installations in other departments?

Annie, as I see it ISST is not customer friendly, just too many bugs yet. When it works it's a good system, but it doesn't work 50% of the time. When we have issues with it we go to Genesis and still use the paper contracts. I have seen customers walk out of the store because of the time you spend with them trying to get the system to do what it suppose to do. When this system goes down it's down for hours, sometimes as long as 2 days.

It has a lot of problems with WEX (SOE) items.

Appliances has a lot of WEX items, so I end up doing many dishwasher installs with Genesis.

Build your sale in genesis and save it as an estimate. Then after you create the labor portion in ISST link the sales estimate. Note I said estimate, Don't save it as an invoice it won't link. ISST works great if you know how to use it. I am the ISM and know the system. You should have the labor portion pretty much figured out BEFORE the customer comes in. I see WAYYYYYYYY to much of associates selling a detail without having any idea what product the customer wants. qualify your customer so when the detail comes back you know what to work up so when they come in it is pretty much ready to print.l

If you know the system so very well would you please explain how to save an "estimate" for a wex item? In Genesis it will not allow a WEX or SOE item to be saved as an estimate it must be invoiced. This scenario happened last week to me and I had to do it in Genesis for the whole thing. Sometimes the ISST is wonderful but then in situations like WEX it really sucks.

You are correct, Wex and ISST .........Well forget about it. Lowes I.T. department sucks too. I noticed Lowes is becoming more and more like Sears, They really don't give a shit about the customer or the associate. It's all about sales and profit to keep wall street and the monger share holders happy! They sure have enough money to pump into their damn red neck racing though! Rolling Eyes
