We have also started it at the store I am currently and unfortunately located at. It is a farce. We have night stocking. The unloaders start unloading the truck with 3 unloaders and a Manager at 7 PM (5PM on 2 truck nights). The unloaders are Moe, Larry and Curly. Most unloaders usually quit after a month or so. The layout in receiving is a joke. The next day deliveries are being done in the next dock while unloading the truck plus traffic from the floor. Then you have the leftovers from the "precious and worthless" day Receiving crew. The pallets are a long way from the conveyor so one walks literally a mile. The unloaders have not a clue the difference of merchandise within a department, thus "bulk palletizing" does not occur correctly. The floor people are suppose to take the freight from the pallet and place it in front of the location it is to be stocked. They usually have not a clue where it goes even within their own department. But that is not a problem. Most of them run and hide to avoid even touching freight. The unloaders are not even allowed to bring the freight to the floor before 9PM. Then on 2 truck nights, the stocking crew has to assist in unloading the 2nd truck, thus they are put behind in their stocking assignments and must work their ass off. It is one of the biggest jokes I have ever seen. Basic ergonomics does not even factor into the planning. It is a "re-hash' of a plan used before. The rule is this: when you fail to remember history, you are doomed to repeat it! The system that was in place prior to this implemented mess was working very well. It was said that it is longer Lowes, but Lowes-Mart. The sign changed should be occuring soon.
