For me the begining was when they closed the Catalog plants. I started in Chicago at the West side facility ( 480 ) in 1962. I was a orderfiller , Christmas help. The people there were like a family. Very close knit. To see them close was hard to go through, like a divorce. Luckily for me I had transfered to Columbus, Oh and ended up at the Retail distribution center ( 420 ). When Eddie and Lacy teamed up to sell us down the river I decided it was time to go. That was 3 years ago and I do not regret leaving. I do miss the people and still communicate with a lot of them ( some things can't die ). I read this forum often and enjoy the banter.
