IVE WORKED THERE FOR YEARS (WHAT SMELL???)
Dont worry.SB haters threre will be plenty of people out of a job soon enough Im glad that will give so many of you pleasure. Big Boxers..we in retail are accustomed to having to take SH*T from others and like it...I registered to this forum because I thought I would meet people to give support and relate to what I am going through right now...Instead I get the same line of thought that I would get if I approached somone unfamiliar with retail...I guess there are established (clicks) with people in this forum so next time you get ignored or your thoughts are disregarded by the (clicks) in your line of work remember you can always log on here and feel safe and warm Thanks for nothing **exceptions apply to those I spoke with via PM and frieind_of_macys I appreciate VERY much the correspondance and answers to my questions I just wish there were more of you here. The way the economy is going you "haters" could find yourself in my boat very soon.
**excuse the mispelling I am somewhat upset |
OUCH. tell us how you really feel !!! i "feel" for you, i really do, but you have to understand our "plight" as well. some of us here (many, actually) have worked at macy's or the former may company (that macy's took over) MANY MANY years !! and are sick of all the bullshit that management constantly gives us on a daily basis. this is our place to vent, inquire, have fun and help each other when needed. we really do help each other. i've learned more info on this forum about what is really going on -or is about to happen- than in ALL my years with the company. we don't sugarcoat anything, which it sounds like is what you want. this is the real crap that goes on every day.
and as for your "boat" ? some of us are waiting on the docks with our lifejackets waiting....waiting to be offerred a severance package to leave. some of us missed our chance and thought we'd try it at macy's to see if we'd like it. i don't.
you are very welcome to join us here. you'll get a chuckle most every day. but perhaps NOT working at an actual macy*s, you might not understand where we are coming from.
i'm just saying.

Yes, it is true. Another retailer has filed CHapter 11. Steve and Barry's announced it was filing Chapter 11 protection today and immediately began terminating staff and closing corporate offices. It is still rumored that Steve and Barry's will:
1. Begin Massive Liquidation of all outlets
2. Shutter outlets considered unprofitable & attempt to keep the chain alive
3. Find a buyer for the company who might be interested in it's real estate holdings.
Here is the link to the MSNBC announcement regarding Steve and Barry's....
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25603764/
My prayers are with the associates who have devoted themselves to building Steve and Barry's into a decent company. May you survive the storm or attempt to find decent jobs with another company.
Another retailer affected by $400 a gallon gas...........

Poor Sarah Jessica Parker and Amanda Bynes will have to market their brands now to other retailers. Hmmm, I hear Wal-mart might want it!

EX...I dont know why since you had to work with people that were good, honest people you continue to degrade that product and inturn the feild reps that work there...contribute info people or your thoughts like friendofmacys.
Like I have said before if I wanted to hear this kind of rhetoric I would travel to one of my stores (on my own dime) and hear customers.
My orginial rant posted earlier continues to find validity......lets see if that continues...............

11, though I feel for you, you've got me stumped. First of all, we all work at Macy's (except FOM, and now Lady), and if you haven't noticed, we bash Macy's, and anything to do with Macy's, everyday.
I'm not exactly sure what you are looking for here.
We do understand what you are going through. I was put out of my commissioned position, which I enjoyed, and had loyal customers that I loved. Many of us have been told that we can no longer receive raises, and some have even had their wages decreased! We are understaffed, given fake money as rewards for opening credit accounts, forced to wear all black, and for those of us that are former May, our discount has been cut!
But...this is retail, and we go on, hoping for something better. I have had to adapt so many times since my first position with the company that was before Mayco.
We meet here to talk about what's going on, get info, vent, and just chat. Some of us are witty and like to joke.
It's all in fun, and if you are going to hang with us, you are going to have to learn to take it with a grain of salt. You have posted 3 times, and 2 out of the 3, you have been blasting us for not coddling you.
Like Normarae said, most of us are just waiting for the news that we have been "eliminated".

In other news Terry Lundgren announced today that after his successful takeover of May Company he is planning a hostile take over of luxury leader Nordstrom.
"If you can't beat them, just take over them!"

Or how to treat employees! And how to pay employees. And how to give benefits. And the type of merchandise to carry. And the type of advertising to do.
