Well it's almost July and ya'll know what that means Surprised . Surprised The Opnet Report for Fall season will be making it's way to stores. MLBeast and Frank, have you heard any news about the company offering buyout packages or what selling areas are likely to see staffing cuts? The stores are not doing so well and the stock price is much worse than it was last summer. I see dark clouds popping up on the horizon.

They're still working on the opnets in my region...everything's falling behind...the North is sucking all the life out of the company!! (no offense, North, not really your fault)...should know some numbers next week, but I don't forsee any cuts...as they're only calling for our region to be off by 1%! (can't remember if it's up or down) Of course this is Macy's, so we all know how off that estimate is...they will go into Fall not cutting then when they see the business isn't there, then they'll start to cut...usually xmas jobs, then we'll start to get crazy busy and they never give 'em back... Doh! This is exactly what happened last year.
Don't read too much in to the stock price...the whole market's in the gutter...GM is $10...who'dve thought that was possible 6 months ago...

Very true Frank, I have never had any luck with GM products so I wouldn't be sad to see them go however I feel for those who lives will be effected. Anyways back to the point Merril Lynch has downgraded GM stock and is mentioning that bankruptcy may be on the horizon for GM.

i remember this time last year we had the opnet. frank, it seems to me that my store has had more cuts in the fall opnet than spring. usually we fight to get some back...and we do. i guess it depends on the individual store also and it business needs.

you are right about christmas and cutting positions. i believe they will do the same this year as it will not become very busy until we get closer to christmas.

the merging of the north has placed many plans on the back burner...especially when it comes to the small store strategy. i gather we will to see more changes until after the christmas season.

Anybody going to watch the Macy's Fireworks show on TV tonight. Let's pray for rain, or at least Terry's hair catching on fire.

'Instead of cutting sales help, how about cutting some of the buyers?? maybe they are the reason the North is sucking the life out of everyone!! Our business sucks because of the merchandise we now carry. It's not because of the sales help!
