In other words, you admit you were flipping trolling? Bullshit again, MA!

It's no different than 80% the other stuff you post back here. So you're "trolling" 80% of the time?

Quote:
And I'd never attack Michelle Obama, her various statements on the campaign trail speak for her and who she is.

Oh, flipping really??? Well, why don't you just bless us with your interpretation of who she is based on her "various statements". I'd really like to hear you try to rationalize that away with" Oh I was just trolling to see if I'd get any bites".

I could easily say that your various statements on these forums speak for you and what you are too. What would that mean to you?

I watch Foxnews, also CNN and listen to NPR...

I believe in a variety of viewpoints so I can see what all media coverage is like

They all have bias (NBC has been really bad lately) as long as you know their point of view, their coverage can be instructive.

Gee, too bad that with your "variety of viewpoints" all we ever get subjected to is the Fox News drivel soundly laced with the Limbaugh/Hannity wisdom of the day. Apparently, that's all you're capable of absorbing and passing on to the masses.

I've got to go with Shake on this one... if shallow, insubstantial, simple minded, one sided sound bites were all I cared about, I'd just go with Fox News and not even bother to read.

Don't EVEN start me on O'Reilly. That's the saddest flipping excuse for a "journalist" as we're EVER likely to see.

Sooo . . . what's your rationale for that wisecrack? And what does it have to do with Nof's original post?

Guess you won't be visiting this place anytime soon:

Or do you advocate we send it back?

And then there was the Revolution... remember that little period where if it hadn't have been for those "annoying" French types we'd probably all be talking like the Geico Gekko and kissing the queen's ass?

In fact, seems like there was a little repeat between about 1812 and 1815 or so too... along about the time the British had sacked Washington and burned the White House... where some more of those "annoying" people came along and helped save the day.

Tsk tsk. And you the big history buff too.
Naughty!

lets see, where to start...

1. OReilley is a gasbag I avoid at all costs. For that matter, Olberman is the same sort of gasbag. the both suck.

2. How is saying nothing about Michelle Obama an attack of any kind? do not ascribe meaning where there is none.

3.

3. (stupid fat fingering on the keyboard) YES! I admitted i was pulling your chain with the Hussein comment. AND you took the bait and went nuclear on me instead of making a snarky comment back and moving on.

4. France used to be one of our biggest allies... and then after WWII DeGaulle and Chirac couldn't deal with being also-rans in the new era and shafted us repeatedly. Sarkozy is working to fix that and France might be again an asset... he seems ilike the guy who will repair US/French diplomatic relations

BUT making fun of the French is pretty ingrained.. i am a Python fan you know. Razz

... and remember that little incident in the 80s when they made our pilots fly around Spain to bomb Lybia and we 'accidently' blew up their Embassy...? that was just awful, awful I tell ya! :lol

Oh my... we're all the way down to ;lol now?"

Good grief MA. You admit to deliberately trolling... you brag because you consider your trolling "successful" (which is a lot like bragging about being totally obnoxious twit)... and now you try to convince the "crowd" you were just setting a clever little trap and start dancing around gleefully because you think someone fell INTO it? Oh my, I've got to stop. I'm laughing too hard to type.

Hmm...I think that could be topped by, oh...let's see...Katie Couric. She may be worse...I don't know.

Oh, and MA - I don't know what you have against Olbermann, but I think he's not nearly as bad as O'Reilly. In fact, I love how he calls out O'Reilly's bs all the time - it's fantastic.

However you feel about him, at least Olbermann fact checks. O'Reilly doesn't even fact check himself - I can't count the number of times he's changed his stance on something on one hand.

....wait...so...how is your response in three better?

and, for #4, why should any country be an asset? I mean, they're an established country. It should be possible that we be friendly without needing anything out of them. I think Chirac and DeGaulle were worried about French sovereignty...which is a legitimate case. I don't agree with some of the things they did, but that's still their right to do so.

Think about all the things we do as a country - without hesitation. What if China, for example, told us we couldn't invade Iraq? Or...let's say, trade with the EU? Americans have this deal where they think that they are supreme....it just makes us seem bigoted and arrogant. That's not a good characteristic to have.

Okay... I'll almost concede that one... nobody will ever top BOR for being an outright jerk, but Katie Couric is way up there on my just plain annoying list.

Before the Great Wars, all diplomacy was conducted in French, the official language of diplomacy.

After WWII, all of that switched to English, and that, coupled with losing their Empire, and having to have the Americans save their asses, rather irked the more nationalistic of the French.

It has taken a generational change (Sarkozy) to repair that perceived affront.

And really, as America returned French sovereignty to them, and made sure they were one of the 5 permanent members of the UN Security Council, I'd not see how we could have threatened that.

Gee Professor, do we really NEED your history lectures straight out of Wikipedia on THIS thread? You've already outed yourself as nothing but a common troll. No need to keep reinforcing it.

Should I try ANOTHER thread about the actions of oil futures speculators or will he just show up on that one and turn it into a discussion on the mating habits of moose in Canada or something? Decisions, decisions.

Ya know, you're the one who takes these threads off track by attacking every post i make...

Either that or you have finally accepted that conversation flows where it will, and you cannot direct it.

Uh... no... I have been attacking off topic posts in a thread that I myself started and wished to remain on track. Several attempts have been made by several people to keep this thread about oil futures speculation. YOU are the one that refuses to allow it to remain on or return to it's original subject.

EVERY time it looks like we're back to talking about oil prices, you post something else about France or whatever. Do not EVEN try that bullshit.

The commodities speculators are as bad as the house flippers rushing to cash in on very trendy investment.Throw in some media hype you create a perception that things will go up and panic buying starts to "get in",some benefit some don't.Just like the fraken house flippers or flipping.

Americanism...our cultural beliefs - you know, being the best, everyone following our example....that's one of the reasons alot of people, especially in the east, do not like America. We are the flagship of Westernization. They have never (from ancient times) took well to that change.

That's my last word on it - let's move back to the topic.

Simply put the SPECULATORS created an artificial demand for futures driving up prices.unfortunetlly they learned the rules of supply and demand from economics.

Problem is those who physically need the futures for more than a speculators game get screwed.
