Using ever the popular drive through. Now in a time of high gas prices and carbon credits the current generation of yuppie scum and soccer moms are just realizing that an idling vehicle is wasting gas and polluting?.Hellooo
What always puzzled me is that the priority that the drive through windows got at these places.Wait a minute.I'm taking the time MY TIME to walk into to your joint and you're giving some lazy ass priority?-that customer won't even be around in a few years because of the plague build up from sitting in their hogging gas.
I still remember history from the gas shortages of the late 70s,my current gas bill and the temperature gauge going up on my dash. And I can still hear the cooling fan kick five minutes later while trying to interperet what the talking box is saying.

Dead on! When my wife and I were going together back in the 70s during the first big gas crunch I pulled into a Jack In The Box down in Van Nuys for lunch. She didn't feel like going in so I was going to go in and get out stuff while she waited in the car.
As I was parking, she said, "Why don't you used the drive thru? It will save time".
I have always hated drive thrus anyway, mind you
I looked over and said, "See that red Mustang that's third in line? Watch this."
The Mustang was third in a line of about 7-8 cars, all of them sitting with the engines running, burning all that newly quadruple priced gasoline. Went in, got my stuff got back to the car. Mustang hadn't moved an inch. It was third in line, I would have been eighth or ninth. Do the math. Even worse now that you have to wait for them to actually cook the stuff.
She never bugged me about the drive thru again.
