We just got the memo yesterday that went into effect yesterday. Bump all del fee's up $14. Now its $79 for local del. I talked to one customer yesterday about it and she was fine with it. Companies have to do what they have to do to stay in business she said.

Is this for appliances or pig (flatbed) deliveries? My old store the fee was $75 but was refunded when you bought an appliance because of the free delivery. For pig deliveries the fee was $75 but alot of times the old SM would get it lowered depending upon how much was sold.

This is for all deliveries. Normally our big buying contractors get a break on the deliv fee. Which is nice, cause it keeps them coming back.

Yea some customers don't like it. They're like OMG $79!!1oonen!! Well when we deliever 7 days a week and the trucks take 50 gallons of diesel and diesel is over $5/gallon and the trucks get 8-9mpg, yea it's gonna cost you $80 for delivery. Then they bitch they live right down the street but they have no way to get their product home. I think some people just like to complain.

When I was at Lowe's my customers would actually demand a manager. They would gripe to the manager about the delivery costs and that they didn't want to wait for the rebate and the managers would usually discount the item 10%. On a 2000.00 Washer and Dryer sale a 10% discount is significant. Of course they still got their rebate in the mail.
Some people love to just cause trouble is what it amounts to.
