Did my first day of orientation today. I was shocked....maybe overwhelmed is a better word concerning the amount of programs Lowes offers its employees. Any advice or feedback on which ones are worth spening the cash on and which ones are a waste?

I would definitely recommend the 401K and the ESOP (the employee stock purchasing plan). I had a bit of financial trouble last year, and I cashed out some stock to pay it off. I wouldn't recommend doing this all the time as a quick fix because obviously you get taxed, but it is a good back up.
I don't have experience with the flex account because I don't have a family, so I didn't think it was worth it.
I will say our vision plan is awesome. I haven't had to use medical or dental, but I have both just in case.

It dosn't hurt to put the $1-$2 or so a paycheck to get Long Term disability. You never think you'll need it...but if you do....
