I did not go on vacation yet. I am leaving for my vacation on july 19, and returning Aug 4. I am looking forward to it. 16 night, 17 days of vacation of no macys. I won't be in Macys for 18 wonderful days. Everybody is sick and tired of how macys is run their business. We been so short handed lately it is crazy. No staffing, customer are complaining, etc. And now they are telling us to use the one day shopping pass even if it has been signed and dated. Customers already get so much coupons already, now they want us to use their coupon another day also. I been doing long and crazy hours lately. The last 2 days I been opening and closing because they have nobody to open or close, I was suppose to work today but I put in for a personnal day for today. The GSM today didn't know I put in a personnal day that was put in the system a few weeks ago. So he calls me up to see if I could work to day, and I told him I can't come in I taking a personnal day. He said he is screwed, because they was only 2 people schedule for today and the other person called out today and the place is a mess. He ask if I was doing anything special, I told him no I just needed to use them up before July 31 and I was tired and needed to relax. I was schedule for 6 days this week, so I figure I take a day off today and work 5 days. So you know I asked for all these hours, It was not forced on me. I am even doing over night this week on Tuesday because the store is a wreck because we are short handed. I am doing about 9 hours that day. So I am looking for my vacation and not think of Macys.

I even went to HR about those scorecard telling them that I need non productive time. They said only specialist could get non-productive time because sales don't count for us(It is only information. I told HR that the managers are saying that sales will count this year and it didn't count last year. HR said as far they know sales won't count. They said if you are worried about the score card tell your GSM to go to the OPS manager to put in non-productive. I really don't know who to believe in Macys. I think the score card is just an excuss just not to give us a raise next year.

Money, The scorecard is only for information and is not on your review for next year...after that, who knows? Your ops manager is supposed to sign off on all non-sell time...if you truly are doing non sell time you should go to him, as even though it won't matter since the scorecard doesn't count towards your review, it will affect your credit, which is 15% of your review... |

Fashion, No, I don't think the company thinks it's the sales associates fault business is bad...it's bad everywhere...it's just supposed to give you the information so you know how you are doing vs. your peers, and if it motivates someone to do better, why not? So much of this stuff relies on how the managers relate it to you...I don't think the scorecard is the problem, I think the managers are the problem. They need to work with you, not be on a pedestal looking down and preaching to you...or hounding you...that's not the way to do it. They should be your partner, because, guess what, the scorecard is their review!!! |

| I think we need some clarification as to what we will be reviewed on. Macy's has always used the "metrics" for sales phr, items per trans and avg sale as well as the credit participation score to base reviews on. So do you mean that it is only the POINTS accumulated on the scorecard that we will not be held accountable for? We are supposed to be aiming for an 85 or better to achieve HEE recognition according to the employee hand-out for the scorecard program. | |

| Macysmess, SPH, IPT, AS never counted towards your review before. If you read your review it will say "this is only for your information and does not count towards your review. Only credit counted. And I am not worry about credit because I am #2 for the entire store and #1 for my dept. I was just worried because management said it was counting this year, but HR said no it does not. Reviews must be different in other divisions, b/c our review DOES include sales. Not only your own sales, but the sales of your department, AND the sales of the entire store. What can you personally do about the sales of your department and your store? Oh, we are a team, so it goes on YOUR review. 
My review last year would have been a HME, but was reduced to EE by the "team score". That's bull. Also, if Corp. does know that the lack of sales is not our fault, they sure have a funny way of showing it. At my store, we are being harrassed everyday about our sales. Our SM tells each of us our DAILY sale goal in the morning meeting, and then holds us accountable to it EACH DAY! It's very laughable when the SM says to you "MAYcylady, your goal for today is $2000.00.", and then there is not one single customer in my department. Macy's is stupid. |

Money, MAYcylLady is correct. All of the metrics counted on my review and it is the oinly way to quantify individual performance. What were you reviewed on? There must be a whole lot of inconsistency in the review process across the divisiions in this company

Its same with me..I did well in my sales and it was low in credits..but hey it was MY FAULT THAT MY TEAM..DIDNT DO GOOD IN THEIR SALES and same with the store..BUT TEAM WINS
