Hey all!

I will be transfering to another state at the end of August. I submitted the request a few weeks ago, and let my HR and SM know. Previously, I asked to step down from my position about 4 months ago...and still, here I am. No big deal, I'm getting out of there very shortly. The problem is, they just now made an offer to an outside hire to take over my position. He will not be able to start until the 2nd week in August. This doesn't leave a lot of training time. I know the SM has to give a release date...if they try to hold up my transfer, what recourse can I take? Honestly, I may be jumping the gun, but I am currently the ISM of high volume store, so the position is important, and I am a little scared that they may try and hold mt transfer. Help! Smile

Have you already been accepted at the new store? What is your start date there? It won't be your job to train the replacement. Lowe's will continue to operate without you being in that store. Just leave when it is your time. Have you followed up on your transfer? I've heard of people that get written up right before they leave because the management doesn't approve of letting them go.

Maybe they are going to rely on the ISC to run things until the new person gets their feet wet. It took me MONTHS to get the Lowes system down. Talk about an antiquated system!

I did an install the other day and put in "pl" for the product. This didn't transfer correctly to Genesis. The ISC came to me complaining that I was selling it wrong! I printed out the portion on ISST that showed that I put them in as "pl". Just an fyi, it doesn't always work. We had to refund/rebill the product to get them into the due file. What a mess.

For the most part, ISST is a great program in that is prompts a lot (though when it crashes, everyone has become so reliant on the system, they can't sell it correctly through Genesis), but there are so many bugs in the system that make everyone's jobs harder. For carpet, the tax is almost always different in Genesis when the job is sold. I swear to God, I have had two people in the past week who have complained once they got home because one was charged $1.30 more and the other $2.50. They will be coming in for a paid out because I refuse to refund/rebill. I know times are hard, but, really? You want to spend the gas money to come to Lowe's for that? I haven't encountered the load indicator not transfering. I guess that's one more thing I have to look forward to, huh? Rolling Eyes

I hope this is true. I have a great team in there, sometimes I just have to retrain their focus. Anyway, the man hasn't accepted the position, yet. He asked to have until today to decide...which kind of scares me! Smile

I spoke with the HR there who told me to call back the first week of August since they were in the middle of doing their reductions at the moment. Regardless, I submitted in writing yesterday that my last day needed to be 8/27 so that if I have to quit, I will do so in good standing.

I have heard of this, too, and at my store it wouldn't surprise me. I've been keeping my head down and just trying to get through the days without incurring any wrath.

Thanks for the input, y'all!
