YAY! for mervyns! I used to work there, and loved it. Life was good when I worked under the target rules. Also briefly worked for a lease department of Marshall Fields... and was a frequent shopper. I sympathize with the loss of such a good company. I always tell people that if Target had a store close enough, I would work there in a second. |

I love Target! Its closer to me then DumbMart, I mean Walmart. So I always go there. I wish we could get a Super Target though, I wouldn't leave for Publix! Then again, I love Publix.
What does Mervyns sale? I have heard of it, but never seen one. |

| It is very similar to Kohls. Some national brands, alot of house brands. Cheap, quality clothes. They are all out west now | |

| Mervyn's rocked! I loved working there and their products were decent! The problem was that Target sold them to another company and they are going down the hole ever since. Too bad Target couldn't keep them. Now Kohl's is giving them a run for their money! | |

Mervyns is expected to file bankruptcy in the next few days. I just read it online. It is anticipated that they will join the ranks of Steve and Barry's and Linens N Things.
Business news said that retailers such as Talbots and Ann Taylor were also slowing retail growth to a trickle and may be closing many of their recently opened stores. Dillard's also announced a spree of store closings including 2 within 4 hours of me. |
