My manager gave me the overview of how the pre-sale works, and I've got to say, it's pretty unnecessary. The point of coming to the store, to get an item at the sale price, but you can't take it home with you until the sale starts just doesn't seem worth it to me.
It seems like it's going to be a confused mess. Once we ring them out, we're required to take the items upstairs for storage. [How many employees will remember that?]
They don't get charged until the sale starts.
And they must bring an ID with them to pick the items up. [The amounts of credits I was unable to open because they forgot their ID only tells me this is going to be a mess.]
The last one day sale we had was a complete flop, and the extended hours we're pointless, so something tells me this won't be too popular.
Gotta get ready to leave, ill be back at 10.

With the price of gas, I can't imagine too many people will want to make two trips.

I used to hate pre-sales. Trying to explain to customers that they are buying it, but they won't be able to take it with them until later, and they won't be charged until the sale starts, but the price has been reserved on their account, so don't splurge on it before the sale starts. After they look at you blankly, you just smile and take their card. Oh, and if they ask if you can send it to them instead of them coming to pick it up, explain that they will need to pay for shipping. I love customer service at Macy's.

Macy's has never made me wait. As a matter of fact I refuse to wait, do you know how far away the nearest Macy's is at $4 a gallon? I haven't been to Macy's since November because of gas prices.

Nevermind the false advertising for not having the item, when the sale breaks in the paper, because the item has already been pre-sold to other customers. I am already mad.

I hate pre sales almost as much as I hate extended hours! They are a waste of time. We are pre selling for one sale and we are IN another sale! People hate having to come back for their purchases.
