I don't want to say that my old Macy's store is typical. I seriously hope that it isn't. When our store manager was promoted to a store in Texas, they went looking for a new store manager. Because the store is a remote store, that is a store that is more than 3 hours away from Atlanta, there wasn't a lot of raised hands from people who wanted to be a store manager there. They didn't believe in promoting from within, so they found an MTM in Atlanta, who had no store manager experience, to be the store manager. She has made a lot of enemies. In the two years she has been there, a lot of full-timers (including me) have left. So have sales managers. And the OPS manager. Last week, her executive secretary quit without notice, because she got tired of being talked down to. Now, the head of loss prevention has resigned. That person was there for 22 years and taking retirement. When we became Macy's, we seemed to have lost managers with people skills and got managers who had no clue. Maybe they were cheaper. At any rate, if they continue to go down that road, they may want to get their resumes in order. When I visited the store at lunchtime yesterday, there were 8 cars in the parking lot. Sad.

Sorry to say, I think your store is typical.

I dunno, Lenox Square is usually so crowded that you can't walk thru it. Bloomingdale's and Neiman Marcus are so expensive that I believe people flock to Macy's to save on the same stuff, although Lenox Square is the flagship for Macy's South.

Perhaps that explains the sudden improvement at Lenox Smile

I also liked Town Center, it was a really nice. It was rather crowded last time I was there.
