Did anyone see Good Morning America this morning? They were telling people how to get a discount in department stores. The lady went to Macy's & said that she left her coupon at home. Of course, all of the associates said no, we can't give you one, but then she demanded to see the SM, told him that she would make a purchase if he would give her the discount, and of course, he did. JUST WHAT WE NEED MORE OF!!!

you see, it's shit like that - that really makes me mad.
try that in the supermarket, or anne taylor, or bed, bath & beyond !! they will say NO WAY right away. and good for them. i had 4 people ask me yesterday if i could give them the 15% off discount if they used their macy's card. i told em all NO, it was only in the home store. then they said, well, so and so did it in shoes. i said they are on commission and will do anything to make the sale. i said NO. i'm sorry , ain't doing it.
guess what? they bought the stuff anyway. this is macy's. it's not let's make a deal. that's why the may co. went $6 million into debt. macy's is gonna screw themselves with those coupons and giving discounts to anyone that even mentions them. good. they deserve it.

And then some news show will do a report on credit cards and why someone should avoid using high interest cards like Macy's. I have seen this before. Try and get a credit after a report like that.

Yeah, Oprah did that not too long ago, and you could not get a credit to save your life!
We had a lady in the store yesterday that went to another Macy's store last week, when the dresses were 50% off, but they didn't have this certain dress in her size. This week, of course, the dress sale is over, but this customer felt that she should receive 50% off, since they did not have her size in the other Macy's store. Do you think she got it? Of course. All she had to do was ask a manager.

Sounds like the customer who left the operations manager a voicemail about wanting a certain shoe that was advertised two weeks ago during a One Day Sale at that price. Thank goodness it was a voicemail message.

People drive me crazy. I would never try something like that. If you want it, pay for it, or get the heck out!

Coupons should be a special offer for CREDIT CARD HOLDERS only like Kohl's does it. The cards are tiered, like Kohl's, so Macy's should offer different "Star Rewards" to credit card holders ONLY and not to the general mass.
I haven't received a single Macy's coupon in months. I miss them.
Speaking of shopping has anybody been to an IKEA?

I love IKEA! I used to get alot of stuff there, when I had a townhouse. The furniture is on a very small scale, so IMO, it's not suitable for a larger home. Some of their stuff is really good, but some of it is junk. But hey, you get what you pay for!
I just went with my girlfriend the other day and she got a whole new bedroom, complete with curtains and bedding for only $500.00!
IKEA doesn't fit the style of the house that I have now, but I do still see some things there that I like. And the prices are great.
OH, and FOM, if you do go to IKEA, you should know that there is NO, and I mean NO customer serivce! It's all self serve. You even have to bag your own stuff! And if you need help getting some furniture on top of your car, well, you're out of luck. So don't forget to take some friends with you when you go.

Well at least Macy's loaded the recliner into my car! HMPH!!!!!!!!
I am looking forward to my trip to IKEA in October. It's less than 2 hours away with Atlanta traffic. if you have ever been to Atlanta you know the traffic is horrid! Like Las Angeles, it's insane
I don't have a huge house, but it isn't to small either. It's actually full right now. I want to go to try to the cinnamon rolls that a friend of mine was talking about, lol!
Also - H&M has anyone ever shopped there? H&M is opening not to far from here and I have never been to one.

IKEA cinnamon roll...YUM! I get them every time that I go to IKEA. But Cinnabon is still the best.
Now...H&M. Cool clothes, cheap prices but there is one little tiny catch...they go by EUROPEAN sizes, which in book translates as TINY! I don't even go there anymore for that reason.

I was in Atlanta yesterday for my Aunt's funeral. She was 95. But, I think everytime I go there, the traffic is worse. And all the road construction. You can forget trying to follow a map, because it is going to be wrong. I do pretty well on the city streets, but I can't stand the freeways. Get in a lane and pray.

Oh, I forgot to mention that they do charge money for the bags.
Normarae, they must have bagged it for you b/c you didn't bag it yourself! They do not bag. The first time that I went, I didn't know, and I just kept standing there while my stuff was piling up at the end of the register. Finally, the cashier handed me a bag!

Are you skinny?
The last time I was there, I was a size2, and I bought 4's, and they were still a little snug. That was enough for me. But they do have cool stuff, and good prices.

Everybody is charging for bags now. Publix wants you to buy their bags - they are a dollar a piece! Of course, u can always reject the bags they sale and then take the plastic ones.
Does H & M sale mens clothes?

Yes, H&M sells mens clothes. They are pretty stylish.
About the bags, IKEA charges you for the PLASTIC bags! I think they are 5 cent a piece, if I remember correctly, OR you can buy the big reusable bag.
I'm going to be heading to IKEA again pretty soon, my girlfriend just got a new house and she wants some new stuff.
The new catalog should be out any day now.
