What is the deal with the scorecards?!

I bet a Belk blouse doesn't cost Belk even $9.99. They pay pennies on the dollar for that stuff being made in other countries. That's how they can sell it for 75% off, plus an extra 40%, plus a use your card discount, and STILL turn a profit.

I sold alot of house brands in Textiles..and they are really good..compare to the clothing lines Thumbs Up

I have bought Macy's House Brands in housewares and they are just as good as the name brand. Both my sheets and bedspread are Macy's branded & I love them. I need to go to Macy's and shop around for some more Smile

I don't care for Macy's sheets. I have bought several of the "luxury" high thread count $400.00 sheet sets, and they aren't all that. I'm much happier with my Ralph Lauren sheets. They stay nice and soft, no matter how many times you wash them.

I want some Sateen sheets. I should go look at them sometime.

The sheets I have on my bed now were $250 - I bought them on clearance at Macy's. Imagine that for like 15 bucks.

Don't buy the Macy's brand sateen sheets. After you wash them, they aren't sateen anymore. Go with RL.

Just remember this Marshall Fields believe in product training..and Macys just hand out booklets..maybe you be lucky to have a good RM..to give you more information on their lines.. Doh!

Agreed. I don't know if the rules are the same for you, but if you get injured on your own time doing work, Macy's is not responsible. I'm being truthful about it.

They added this "Coaching Box" outline on the floor where the scorecards are presented. Isn't that the gaudiest thing you've ever seen? A vendor rep asked what that line was for. I told her it's so employees can all do the hokey pokey.

Even if you are just in the SM's office talking about work, you should be on the clock. Many times I had already clocked out, and then the SM or OPS said that they needed to talk to me, so I clocked back in.

Anytime a manager asks you to come into the store early or on a scheduled day off to do "catch up" work, you should be entered into the system as non-productive time. Now more than ever since they have put so much emphasis on scorecards, non-prod time is critical. Otherwise your selling metics will take a hit because you will have zero productivity for the hours which you worked and the other people in your zone will have better scores than you. Also, make notes on a calendar for personal paid time off, off-site meetings etc. because that will also affect your scorecard. If you are challenged by mgmnt. during a scorecard coaching, then you will have the info to show why your score is lower.

I had noticed that one week when salespeople were asked to work in the back to rebox shoes, and their scores lowered in the next scorecard.

It's so stupid. Alot of the time I'm so bored that I will end up doing non-selling tasks in my department, and letting the other ladies ring, and then I get a bad score. My manager said that it's b/c Macy's believes that all that associates have to do it sell. I don't even want to know what my department would look like if I decided to "just sell".

It's supposed to be the lovely executives to do that. This includes HR. In my store, I guess I'm better off waiting until World War 4 ends before something happens the right way.

The HRM, HRM asst. or the Ops Mgr. are given that responsibility. Check the pay stub each week... it will show up on the non-prod line.
