Any wild stories to share?
Today, I was speaking with two managers on the selling floor, and we are having a One Day Sale. Out of nowhere, a customer comes over and asks if I am going to continue helping her. The manager cuts in and tells her that her salesperson was a woman. Apparently, the customer cannot tell the differences between genders regarding who has been tending to her.

As for me, I don't drink margaritas. I keep chloroform in the stockrooms. If there is a moody customer, I merely invite them to the back, and give them some "special, outstanding service." When they wake up, they find themselves in an old, abandoned bathroom in the building's subsubbasement, chained at the ankle, and a hacksaw by their side.
By the way, I also loved the customer story of someone asking me what 8.5 meant under size in the clearance ticket.

Note to self - Do NOT shop at Macy's in New York on the days that Burger is working....
Speaking of New York, I think my brother and I are going to be going to Manhattan or Chicago next summer. If he doesn't go - then I may go to Manhattan by myself. I am really excited!

Seriously, I'm not all that mean. I just find it sad and annoying to deal with customers who act like they lack moral values. Like the lady who let her son throw a boot weight at an senior citizen. A manager scolded the boy for doing that, and the customer was upset. The only way the customer quieted down was when the manager mentioned that the old lady could easily sue the kid. The other sad thing is that I find the worst customers to be "local urbanites," or should I say ghetto people. It only helps reinforce other people's perception about us. It's bad enough that it only took me over fifteen years to embrace being a Hispanic after so many years of feeling I would have to act low class in order to identify with my culture.
BTW, if you wish to find me, just find the employee wearing all black.

Actually, they are all over the city. And the embarrassing thing coming from the perspective of a Hispanic is that it is a different attitude in the home island (at least in Puerto Rico.) Upon entering mainland United States, we have this horrible stereotype manifest.

Excuse me, isn't there a salesperson on the floor that isn't chatting that wouldn't mind giving me outstanding service?

I feel your pain.
I remember doing some work on the clearance racks one morning, and a customer came to me asking for help. I directed her to a salesperson who sat her down for a moment. Two minutes later, the same customer comes to me. I told her I'm not a sales person once again and bring her to the same area. A moment later, she is circling me saying my name (the wonder of name badges.)
Or how about the custome who came in for the 7:00 AM opening, and was going crazy for an open register at 7:15?

Employee in black, I will remember that.
There is nothing to be ashamed of as a hispanic. It is something that you should be proud of. Not all Hispanic American citizens are low class.
Personally, I have a problem with the hispanics that are here illegally and make no effort to learn our language, our customs, or our standards - instead they demand that we conform to them. Not all of hispanics are like that, but what upsets me is that if someone came from Germany or Russia, France, China, or Japan - they are expected to conform to our way of life with no exceptions.
- Sorry, I will get off my soapbox.

Ummmm.... that could be misconstrued if I didn't know you better MAYcylady. Just to confirm - you do work for Macy's not on the corner of Macy's? LOL
No, I haven't found a cute girl at the school. It wouldn't matter if I did though they have a school wide nepotism policy.

No cute teachers? And how are you suppossed to meet a wife if you can't date other teachers? What about cute single mom's, are you allowed to date them?

I know, some of the mom's in my kid's classes are WAY older than I am, and I find it hard to believe that we were pregnate at the same time.
Okay...do any of your students have nannies?
A girlfriend of mine has a nanny, and the nanny took the child to the doctor for his checkup, and now the nanny is dating the doctor! That is a very good way to loose your nanny...you should never let your cute, young nanny take your kids to the doctor!

It would be nice if she were a doctor or lawyer - maybe a power stock broker or she could just be independently wealthy.
I will remember that when I go to the doctor next time - find the cute young girl doctor.

FOM, I'm not ashamed to be a Hispanic today. That was my attitude years ago. Thankfully, I learned to appreciate my culture.
If you are buying sandals, make sure you are comfortable in something open toe. A customer once asked a stock person on his opinion on these open toe shoes she was trying on. She told him to not look at her toes though.

We are all unique, it is so important to realize that you were CREATED! You were not a mistake, you are exactly the way that you were meant to be. You are here for a purpose.

It'll probably sound like me since I have no Spanish accent.
I remember this one time who was furious about the fact that we do not carry any narrow width shoes. When I tell you furious, she was threatening to sue the company because we had all these lovely boots, and all she could wear was New Balance. She also did not think it was a funny thing. A salesperson and I clocked out for lunch, and we laughed about it the entire time. The salesperson's mother was a narrow width, so from her observation, the customer was not a narrow width.
I guess if the shoe fits, it's not at Macy's.
