I think we are turning into Best Buy.

I just saw a TV commercial with a young woman showing a red GE washer and being called the "new blue appliance crew".

Yes she was wearing a blue shirt.

How unoriginal can we get??????

For some reason I keep on thinking Lowes when I hear blue and appliances mixed together.

Doesn't Lowes have a blue vest.

just saw the commercial last night. Had to laugh because I reconized who the actress is and the smile is so fake (LOL). You would think they'd pick another color not being used.

Red= Target
Orange = Lowes
Blue= Home Depot/ Best Buys
Yellow = can't think of the company/Best Buys security
Brown= UPS

Black= a good color for Sears since we are in morning.

Blue would be good for us because we are singing the blues.

Ok I'll stop LOL

See L T's post on the strip mall appliance Sears

They're pushing a better trained associate to educate the consumer and offering 0% interest for a year ALL year round.

And still think they want some subliminal association with Lowes and Best Buy.

Don't forget the "free delivery" (read as no mail in rebate) all the time and our "proactive" price checks...

I hope my blue shirt comes with an $8 hourly wage so I can say that "I don't work on comm" like Best Buy does...

Lowe's has red vests. They however have a huge blue sign outside of our buildings. That could be one of the best things that Sears has done in their appliance marketing. Blue will bring the customers to Lowe's. Thanks Sears.

Actually the blue/black people in the Sears ads look exactly like the HHGregg employees...

I want to wear blue...man, I feel like I work in a prison, only being able to wear khaki, black, and white...and sometimes red for Troop Support day!

Blue would be nice. Any color other than black and white would be nice!

Okay, blue and khaki or blue and black vs. black and khaki or black and blue. What's the diff? You still won't have the freedom of choice that a ditch digger has.

Meh, I just like bright blue, so I would like to wear it. Uniforms/dress codes are a part of daily life. Had them in school, had them at work.

For god's sake, it's a job. I know that. Ditch digger? Rolling Eyes

I just want a nicer dress code. I don't care that we have to wear one. I'm tired of wearing black and khaki. It's sort of plain and blends in. Not even our name tags have color on them ('cept if we wear buttons or pins.)

I want color! Rock on!

regardless, you'll have to buy your new shirts. I doubt they'll be given to you.

someone let me know if they have made that change.

seems like they would since a blue polo is going to be really hard to find. not unless they are ok with navy--if thats the case, then maybe some bleach would take care of those black polos=ha ha

Where do you shop? I have at least six in my dresser. Land's End must have a dozen different blue polo shirts.

I liked it when I came in dressed really nice, I did not like the dress code. I felt it too restricting and too much like working at a car plant where all working employees in the assembly line wear the same. It's just too drab, on the other hand. Because the younger set wants to wear what isn't really appropriate, I can understand the dress code.

So what do you think about Whirlpool ceasing the inlet hoses on their top loading washers? This new idea will soon be sweeping the entire industry. First the top loaders then the front loaders. I'm pretty certain the cost of manufacturing the hoses just became too much. Let's gouge the consumer just a bit more.

Snurble,

The point was to make a joke. If the blue crew changes its shirts, you guys will be the ones paying for them. Which, I have always had the opinion that if they want a certain uniform, they should at least buy a couple of shirts for the dept.

I was also thinking about royal blue. Lands In never occured to me because its expensive.

I think that appliance salespersons should dress like they used to in professional clothing. I have never liked the polo idea--but that is just my opinion.

I don't get the joke. I have to pay for my black shirts, what's the diff?

Okay, Lands End is a bit pricey compared to Kohl's, WalMart, or even Sears menswear. The point is that blue shirts are available all over the place.

One day there was a big pile of black Lands End shirts stacked in the hub at my store. They were marked $10 each for associates. I bought one but I wish that I had bought more. It would be nice if they could do that sort of deal more often.

Better yet, for those of us in Home Improvement, a blue chambray, denim, or oxford cloth shirt with the Craftsman logo on it.

I had that Craftsman polo idea sent up to District when I still worked there. Got shot down. Land's End employees were able to wear any color they wanted too as long as it was Land's End, yet I couldn't wear a blue Craftsman polo.

The basic cotton Covington polo shirts are frequently on sale for 10-14 bucks and hold up quite nicely in my experience. I prefer them to the Lands End and Ralph Lauren polos i was wearing, both for comfort (thinner, easier to wear given the shite A/C systems) and for durability in the wash.

In fact, I am stunned at how well they have held up.
