Does anybody have anything good to say about this product line? I used to love these tools, but recently several of them are coming back broken, not functional right, and so on. I have been asked about the product line, and I have gotten to the point of telling them not to invest in them. I tell them that buying the higher dollar tools like Stanley, Hitachi, etc that the money is better spent. I had several customers like the fact I am honest and straight forward, but am afraid of management reaction. Whats your thoughts?

Kobalt is an exclusive brand to the company. they might own it. It's definatly better than task force but much of task force is crap for maybe a one time use.
some people used to say that was related somewhat to snap on tools but I really wouldn't make that claim anymore. Also kobalt tools can be returned without a receit for the most part...although I'll be honest I've seen socket sets down the street.
Sometimes products change a factory. Then again I saw hd's ryobi line sold on the streets of Shanghai (beijing street is ALL tools...you'll also see someone welding without a mask)
I used to work at a work clothing company and the products were implied to guarantee...well that wasn't correct. It just ment that product was sold and when it fell apart it would get replaced...again...and again...and again.
I've heard DeWalt was really great back in the day and made great strides with each year but after Black and Decker bought them out the changes weren't nearly as big. There's some other trends with tools like that blue cor thing to charge them faster. Some are more like gimmics though like that automatic tape measure. For some reason it sold like hot cakes one spring...then it wore off.
Also some people have no clue how to use tools. I've seen some confusing sanders with grinders others just want to grab the most powerful thing without thinking about weight. Get the tool that gets the job done.
I don't remember anything bad about kobalt. I just really wouldn't recommend task force at all. That whole line is poor.

I purchased a Kobalt swivel head 3/8 rachet a few years ago. Unlike my other wrenches, this one has lasted the longest and has been abused the most.
Also purchased the 26 gallon air compressor. Still works.
