Well well isnt this interesting I have been saying stores would close and now guess what I have been slammed here for my views and warnings for all to see now the end is near isnt it the way they are running sears it is natural that it and you are doomed so to the many cheerleaders who love sears and posted on my why care about sears post all i can say is ( can you hear me now?) so enjoy your low paying jobs now soon to be traded for low unemployment benefits good luck!

You didn't tell us shit. ALL of us here know stores will close. But your predictions have been way off the money time-wise and date-wise.

letter came fri in a northeast district store that effective jan 1 all sears hardware and appliance stores will have commision sales assoc in order to increase profit line very hush hush top secret letter to district managers only. so if you are a hardware store asso welcome to hell flooded sales floor and fighting with your co workers for $1.50 commission or starve crappy holidays from sears

Make no mistake stores will be closing as they continue to restructure especially mall stores. Many stores starting with the Northeast region are already targeted for deselection between march 2008 to june.Many upper management have already had the sneek peek look at the confidential hot list of closings. But this is no surprise to most of us if you have been watching the events of the last 3 years it was bound to happen sooner then later. So make plans early folks with the economy getting tough its no time to be out of work.Though unemployment probably equals about what sears pays. Good luck all

Well as predicted The Northeastern regional DMs were informed that many Sears Hardware stores will be closed by the end of March 2008. Also many Mall stores such as newberg NY is to be deselected due to under performing and others in Mass Ct and Ri as well. The affected stores Dms were told to make a exit plan and list for the liquidation sale and items to be shipped back to distribution centers. Many managers are suggesting the sale be called the End of Sears Days Sale.

JUST to keep everyone up to speed on the constant crisis situation known as Sears it was mentioned in the SGM conference call that the deselected stores will have to offer full time associates positions at the closest K mart or Sears store within 50 miles of the present store part time of course. If a associate refuses position they will be layed off but unable to receive unemployment benefits due to the fact that sears as offered them employment and the associate refused suitable work. This will keep the cost down for sears which is desperate to cut 20 % for the first quarter. I,am sure everyone is feeling the pressure from all directions esp associates who are being beaten up about the PAs MRAs and credit this is being done to save your managers jobs not yours so hang in there other then newberg and torrington stores closing will probably know more next post

Rumor has it 6 under performing mall stores are going to be closed by july 1 2008. Stores are located in the Northeast region NY NJ RI and MASS CT to be deselected freight sent to these stores cut in half ; hours reduced and many store fixtures sent to central warehouse to use in other stores. Of course all this very hush hush mngmt doesnt want assoc to be unmotivated many associates will be offered part time employment at K marts and sears within 50 miles of their present store if they refuse sears does not have to pay unemployment benefits , because they offered suitable employment and you refused so watch this all unfold by july good luck to those stores.

Quagmire if you really believe what you just said... then you've just proved beyond a doubt that nobody should be paying any attention whatsoever to you.

First off you haven't told us anything, we already knew the store were closing. So you haven't cornered the market on this.
Second since we knew this before you came on you don't see us bragging about it.
