Recently a team member in the PNW brought to the attention of Target STL's that we were carrying a book by Michael Savage, who was recently fired from MSNBC for making a comment that people who are gay should get AIDS and die, among other anti-gay and anti-Jew statements.
The book, prominently displayed on an endcap, seemed to slap Target's diversity policy in the face. The matter was brought up to an STL, who contacted media relations. The book was pulled permanently from the shelf. Personally, I think this is great. If we will only carry a small book section, that would ellude to the fact that we (company) pick and choose, it makes sense to carry books that do not alienate any of our guests or team members. I don't think that this book, or any book, should be banned (you can still find it everywhere else), but I also don't think a store that has such a strong diversity policy should put money into this guy's pocket. |

| Another typically asinine move by a totally hypocritical and fake PC company. Hmm, let's see we operate in a free market but we can dictate to our customers what they're allowed to read, hear or watch. I remember a couple of years ago the newest Slayer CD was pulled because certain religious groups were offended. You kow what? I'm offended that I work for a company with such a puny set of balls. | |

Yeah, if our society changes its' ways like the novel "Fahrenheit 451" then humanity is *long censored beep* *beep* *beep*.........I DON'T WANT TO BE A CONFORMIST! AAHHHH!!!
Let consumer whores(me included  ) buy whatever books we are interested in. No complaining herez ;)
