Yep, we were told at 7 tonight that we were supposed to be walked tomorrow.  At 9 (close) we were told that we were supposed to have the plant racks picked up by the vendors by 7/11/3. We laughed and told our ASM that if he wanted to call the vendor that is located 16 hrs away to get their racks then go ahead. Now, why do you give this info to us the day before it has to be done?  Can you guess where the plant racks and most of the other stuff on the list are....
Right where they were when we closed!  We figure if they wanted it done then they shouldof given us a list this mornin (or maybe a week ago when they got the list from the DM)!

Don't ya just love it when company is suppose to come, and its time for Candy Coating Time, cos hell we all know there are not enough of us to help most of the customers, much less keep the store straight 
But I think the best part of this is when we are expecting company, and suddenly there is a emergency elsewhere, so sorry we can't make it, all that overtime and to late to cut hours

Walked
Most of the time it is the district manager walking around with the store manager. A typical walk: District manager to Store manager: Your shelves aren't full enough! Your displays are dusty! You have too many side stacks! What are those sidestacks doing up in topstock! Your plants aren't being watered! Was THAT a squirrel? Why aren't you displaying this product no one wants to buy up front? This product that is selling, move it to a more obscure spot! Your floors are dirty! Why aren't the schedules posted 10 days in advance! You have too many associates! These are the reasons you aren't making your comps! Store manager to salaried employees: I just got my butt chewed ( see above reasons) All of you will put in as many hours as it takes to get this store in shape! You will only get one day a week off until the store is cleaned up! I have to cut hours for the hourlys! Department manager to hourly associates: I just got my butt chewed (see above reasons) I'm only getting one day off until this place is brought up to standards. Hourly to Department manager: Hey, let me see your name tag. M A N A G E R You are the one that wanted the job. Just think of all the chinese overtime you'll get. 
I'll do what I can but they cut my hours. District manager returns next few days to check up on progress. |

| Well, she never came. It seems that we are being told that we will be walked alot of late. We are beginning to think our ASM lies to us about the walks sometimes. Oh well, looks like just another day in Lowesland! | |

Hey LowesLady, how you been? Three times this month we were supposed to have company, three times no one showed up. They used all the hourly people up and you know who had to cover and pay the price, us Chinese Overtime people. They always preach customer service, but when they pull things like this it hurts customer service. |

Hey Cab good to see you again to  Finally have figured out how to deal wth the New Ways at our Our beloved Lowes, yes there are times I have worked 12 hrs a day...... at my speed!
Yes I am still working alone in my dept most the time, at my speed, hell other then giving out butcher's numbers at my desk, I look straight in the customers face and say "Honey your second or third iin line, I will get to you then." Always with a smile
Figure if they need to go talk to management about how I am to busy to help them, let management take a quick moment to be in my shoes for awhile, anyways, my new outlook is better, I have one speed, ONE at a time People! |
