My store has no air conditioning, they say they won't fix it unless we get a way lower quote. Right now the lowest we have gotten range from 22k-25k. Pretty much we need a whole new system. Customers are complaining, our candy is melting and the 6 months pregnant cashier is about to have to look for another job even with all the ghetto rigged fans we have hanging over the register. This started about 2 months ago, its only been hot on and off during these months beciase of the crazy Ohio weather but something seems wrong about them refusing to fix the system, especialy when summer is starting. I know my manager is trying as hard as he can...he has to work in the conditions too. Is it legal to work in these conditions? When we were hired was anything stated in stone that we wouldnt have to work in without AC?
I plan to work there for the summer, I have 40hrs vacation I'm not giving to them but after that I'm gone.
Any advice/suggestions or knowladge on the subject would be greatly appreciated.
