I received my first paycheck and was surprised to see a $10 bonus labeled "SPIFFs". I was later told that the bonus was from selling protection plans at the register. However, I was only on the job for one week and only remember selling about 4 plans. Any idea on how the "commission" is calculated?

well first it has to go under your unique salesmen number...
I.E. if u are a cashier and an extended protection plan is sold... why is it under your number and not under a specialist or sales floor associate...
u can see how much the spiff rate is from i think its 1.11 in the genisis screen

I sell a lot of the plans on grills, power tools, carry-with lawn & garden equipment, etc..., all of which are picked up by the customers and taken directly to the checkout.

If the sales specialist or sales floor associate is too busy or too lazy to offer it to a customer, then by all means... CASHIERS KEEP SELLING !!! What about all those people who don't ask for assisstance in the department? Why shouldn't the person who asked for the money get the spiff?
